Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making a Purple Cupcake Birthday Card for my sister-in-law.
Above is a screen shot of the design in Cricut Design Space 3. This is where all the magic happens . . .
Seriously, CDS is really easy software to use – whatever I don’t know how to do, I turn to YouTube videos or FaceBook groups. Luckily, I was using a Cricut before CDS and even before Cricut Craft Room, so I started on the ground floor with everyone else.
If you are new, watch videos, videos, videos, and join FaceBook groups. You will get all the support you need.
Here are the cutout pieces. I used Close To My Heart cardstock in Eggplant and White Daisy, and a Cricut magenta pen was used for the design and the text.
The design is from Google Images, but I forgot to document where it’s from, sorry . . . The font is Typewriter – a free Cricut Access font. You don’t have to have Cricut Access – you’ll just have to pay extra for it.
I inked the edges with CTMH Eggplant ink – this makes the edges stand out and adds dimension.
Sometimes . . . things just don’t work out the way I expect. I thought I would use Stickles Star Dust glitter glue on the design, but, guess what? It made the ink run . . . Dang . . . So, I redid it on my awesome Cricut. Only took a few extra minutes . . .
Here is the finished card after I attached it to the base and added nuvo drops on the corners, and a tiny fork bow (I watched a video – bows come out perfectly every time).
