Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making a Lego Birthday Card for my grandson.

Above is a screen shot of the design in Cricut Design Space 3. I love customizing my birthday cards and CD3 makes it sooooo easy!!
This is the inspiration for my card. I searched “lego birthday cards” on Pinterest – it’s amazing how many come up! Don’t do this if you’re going to sell your cards – it would be plagiarism. This card is for my personal use. Also, always, always, always give credit to where your inspiration came from.
Here are the cutout pieces. I used Close To My Heart cardstock in Lemon, White Daisy and Black. The green and red are from the ‘textured Cardstock brights’ paper pad from the Paper Studio. The font is Cricut Sans and the “Happy Birthday” is from the Cricut Space Party cartridge.
I used pop dots under the circles to create the Lego blocks.
The knobs (?) were highlighted on the top right edges with a white uni-ball Signo pen, creating realistic reflections.
The white layer was embossed using the Cricut cuttlebug Happy Birthday embossing folder.
I inked the edges with CTMH lemon ink.
The inspiration card has a six on it, but I needed a 5. It was pretty easy to create a 5 instead. Even so, I had to work on the spacing a little so it would be centered and leave room below for the label.

The left pic has the Lego blocks added, the center pic has the “Happy Birthday” centered at the bottom, and the right pic shows this layer added to the black layer.
Here is the finished card. The layers from above were attached to the lemon base, with the sentiment written on the inside by my Cricut Maker. I used the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board to make the matching envelope.

As always, I’m Livin’ the Moments . . .
