Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making an Alice in Wonderland Valentine for my granddaughter.
Above is a screen shot of the design in Cricut Design Space. This is where I lay out my card and arrange it how I want – it’s so easy to make changes – different images or fonts, print and cut or pieced images, and colors.
This is the inspiration for my card. I searched “Alice in Wonderland” in Pinterest and found many, many choices. Pinterest has LOTS of ideas for cardmakers!!
Here are the cutout pieces. I used Close To My Heart cardstock in Ruby, Bashful, Black, and White Daisy for the Mad Hatter printout.
I cut out the “I” and “mad” separately to add dimension to the card, using the Cricut Calligraphy Collection font. The Mad Hatter is from the ‘Disney – Alice Through the Looking Glass’ cartridge and the font is Cricut Sans. Isn’t there something a little creepy about the Mad Hatter’s eyes????
I also cut out the “Be My Valentine” words – they are from the Cricut Calligraphy Collection – and glued them to the inside.
I attached the front pink layer to the red card base.
So . . . This is where things went a little wrong . . . I put some hearts on the corner with Nuvo Crystal Drops and . . . Yep . . . they smeared . . . No problem, I’ll just cover it up with something.
In this instance, I found a heart from the Cricut Lovestruck cartridge, flattened it, and printed it out. Voile, problem solved!! AND, it filled in a big blank spot. Win. Win.
Here’s the finished card. How cute is this? And, the heart looks awesome on the front as well, don’tcha think???
