October 2018 Simon Says Stamp Sketched Flowers Card Kit

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I got the October 2018 Simon Says Stamp Sketched Flowers Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp!

Above is an image from the SSS website of the kit – definitely looks like fall – Tim Holtz alcohol inks – hmmmm, I’ve never used those before . . .
Here’s a peek inside the box – brown paper bag with a Boston Terrier sticker.
A yummy orange sucker – my favorite flavor!
There’s always a sheet with what comes inside the kit as well as several examples.
Ooooooo, Tim Holtz Alcohol Lift-Ink and three bottles of alcohol ink – Stream, Sunshine Yellow and Sunset Orange. I’ve never used these before, I can’t wait!!!
There are three toner cards that can be watercolored, foiled or just left the way they are.
The Sketched Flowers stamp set is 6×8 and I’m lovin’ the font!
This is a 12-sheet package of 6×8 gina k Fancy Foils in Autumn colors.
There are three sheets of SSS 86# Cover Yupo White Paper.
Above are three sheets of cardstock in Burnt Orange, Bright Yellow and Peacock.
I’ve never used alcohol ink before – it was sooooo much fun!!!! I made way more than I needed, lol.

I made five different cards with the kit. The first one above, was stamped using the Lift-Ink pad on the large floral stamp.
The second card was created by restamping on white cardstock after stamping the first card – kind of like cleaning the stamp on cardstock, lol.
The third card was embossed with black glitter embossing powder and painted with combinations of Brutus Monroe Aqua Pigment Ink.
The fourth card was embossed with Brutus Monroe Alabaster embossing powder and embellished with Nuvo drops.
The sixth card was a hybrid of alcohol ink stamped Yupo paper and second generation stamped cardstock – this is my favorite!!!!!!

2018 Halloween Iron-On Projects

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making 2018 Halloween Iron-On Projects.

Above is a screenshot of my first iron-on project – emoji T-shirts – in Cricut Design Space. I searched emoji images in Google Images, saved the images I wanted, and uploaded them into CDS.

The sunglasses emoji was easy, all I had to do was erase the outside circle.

The other one was a little more complicated. I erased the outside circle, but I also needed white for the teeth and the tongue has two different colors.

Soooo, I imported them as four different images – all the black parts, just the white part, just the dark pink part, and just the lighter pink part.

Sounds difficult, but it isn’t – just more layers.

Here are the finished t-shirts – sooooo fun!!!!
I also made designs for my new granddaughters to put on onesies.

Above is the CDS screenshot for the first onesie. It’s a cute bat cupcaaaaake!! Aaaaaggggghhhhh! How cute is that? It is from the Cricut Cupcake cartridge.

This design obviously has layers – one of the keys to layering is to press them in the right order. I pulled up CDS, ungrouped the design and started with the bottom layer. I pressed for 20 seconds on each layer until I got to the top layer and then pressed for 90 seconds.
This is for the 2nd onesie. I loved the play on words . . .  “Pretty Little Ghoul” . . . Hahahahahaha

The bow is from the Party Photo Prop cartridge, the ghost is from Creepy Critters, and the font is Suburbia.
Yeah, this design was pretty basic, with only two layers – one orange and the other dark brown. It is from the Cricut Broom Hair Don’t Care cartridge.

I mean, the cartridge name alone is enough to check it out . . .
This pumpkin face is the final design I used – it’s more of a worried face than a scary one . . .

It’s from the Cricut Monster Bash cartridge.

I put this design on onesies and also t-shirts for my other grandchildren – can’t leave them out!!!!
Here are all the onesies, they came out GREAT!!!!!

SVGCuts Fall Weekend Vintage Truck

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making the SVGCuts Fall Weekend Vintage Truck.

Above is a pic from their website – doesn’t it look awesome??? I love the attention to detail – doorknobs, window trim, whitewalls, chrome – I can hardly wait to make this!!!!
This is a screen shot of the files in Cricut Design Space.

Lots. Of. Pieces.

Let’s Do This.

When creating SVGCuts projects, there are two things to remember: #1 is to change the scorelines from cut to score and #2 to attach the scorelines to the pieces.

An awesome feature of SVGCuts files is that they have assembly videos for almost every one of their kits that demos step-by-step – I watch all the way through the video first and then watch, pause, assemble, watch, pause, assemble . . .
Here are the cutout pieces.

It’ll be okay . . . deep breaths . . .

I used Close To My Heart cardstock in Black, Silver foil, Colonial White, and Ruby.
The tire treads, on the left, were embossed with the CTMH Chevron embossing folder, and the wood pieces for the truck back were embossed using the CTMH Woodgrain embossing folder.
Step 1 is sorting the pieces based on function – truck body, tires, and trim.

Step 2 is folding along the scorelines. There are mountain folds and valley folds – yep – read on . . .
On the left side of this piece is a mountain fold – it’s folded down and creates a “mountain.”

At the top of the piece is a valley fold – it’s folded up and creates a “valley.”

Hey, I didn’t make this up . . .
To see the actual assembly (too many steps), watch the video – above are the assembled truck side panels.
This is the truck front section.
Here, the sides, front and top sections are connected.
And the truck bed is completed.
Oh My Goodness, the tires were incredibly messy to assemble – it was impossible NOT to get glue all over the sides of the tires – so, I used the new CTMH Black glitter brush to cover up the glue smudges. Don’t they look awesome?????
This is so cool – SVGCuts’ attention to detail is amazing – check out the wheel and axle assembly . . .
Here’s the completed underside – the tires look real, don’t they?
Kitty went for a ride to the SVGCuts Bewitched Cabin, lol.

Aaaagggghhh, the truck came out so so so so good!!! Happy Halloween!

2018 Brutus Monroe Birds of a Feather Inspiration Box

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! This is the September 2018 Brutus Monroe Birds of a Feather Inspiration Box. Above is a picture of the outside of the box – beautiful, colorful feathers.
And, here’s a peek inside the box . . .
There’s always a charm included in the Inspiration Boxes that can be added to a charm bracelet. This month I got the above peacock – check out the detail.
Lots of embellishments . . . From the left is a generous amount of iridescent sequins, green and blue baubles, five cabochons, a package of clear faceted gems, and one yard of peacock ribbon.
I Love This Stuff!! It’s a small container of Peacock Glitter Glaze.
Two feather dies came in the kit – wow, these have such intricate designs – I can’t wait to use these!
This stamp set is called “Feathered Sentiments” – I love that there are 9 different designs. These can be embossed, watercolored, inked or just left as they are.
Eight toner cards are included – two of four different designs. These can be foiled, and/or colored in, or left as they are.
Lots of paper comes in the Inspiration Boxes. There are two sheets of glitter cardstock – one blue and one green, six sheets of white, two each of black, purple, medium blue, light blue, medium green and light green.
Card #1: I cut a 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” piece of cardstock into two sections, embossed feathers on one side with Mermaid Tail embossing powder, created horizontal stripes with the Brutus Monroe Aqua Pigments on the other, ran a piece of peacock feather ribbon over the seam, embossed the sentiment and added three baubles.
Card #2: I used Peacock Glitter Glaze and the Peacock stencil to create the background, die cut a blue glitter peacock feather, heat embossed the sentiment with Alabaster embossing powder on vellum, and added three baubles.
Card #3: I heat embossed feathers with Mermaid Tail embossing powder on the background, die cut a circle and added the sequins in a shaker, and heat embossed the sentiment with Alabaster embossing powder.
Card #4: I added Tidepool Foil to a toner sheet, die cut two feathers, and heat embossed the sentiment on vellum with Mermaid Tail embossing powder.

Camp Nana 2018 T-shirts

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making Camp Nana 2018 T-shirts for my grandchildren.

Above is the “logo” for this year, lol. I have my grandchildren for a few days during the summer and one of the things we do is design and make t-shirts that they can take home.

I think they like it . . . I know I do . . .
My oldest grandchild wanted a Black Swan – of course I was thinking of the ballet (she takes dance classes) – but, no, it’s from one of the books she reads.

Sigh . . . sometimes, I’m so out of touch . . .

The swan is from the Cricut “Splish Splash” cartridge and the font is Cricut Sans.
Here’s the shirt – it was so, so easy. I used Cricut Sportflex Iron-On on my shirt press, which I love, love, love. There was some layering – my strategy is to press for about 30 seconds, peel the liner, add another layer, press for about 30 seconds, peel the liner, etc., and the final layer gets 90 seconds. Works for me.

The new Cricut Easy Press seems to work well, and it takes up a lot less room . . . Also, now they have three different sizes, depending on what kind of projects you do.
This character is for one of my grandsons. It’s a character from a video game he plays on his iPad Mini (“it’s NOT an iPad Nana, it’s an iPad Mini, sheesh”).

I found this image on Google Images – I searched for a cartoon page – I get better images to upload that way. By better images, I mean, nice thick lines and not a lot of colors – I can do multi-color, but they are much, much more complicated.
I used Cricut Iron-on Foil for this shirt.

It’s supposed to be washed inside out in cold water and line dry . . . Well, that’s not going to happen . . . We’ll see how well it wears . . .
My youngest grandson chose Angry Birds – okay, I actually know what these are, lol.

However. A. Lot. Of. Weeding. Good thing I love the kid . . .
It came out pretty awesome. I used gray Siser HTV from craftvinyl.com. If you ever order from this website, it’s an experience, check it out. Just sayin’.

Anna Griffin Make Something You Love Printable Kit

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I have my Anna Griffin Make Something You Love Printable Kit.

When I bought my Cricut Maker on HSN in October 2017, it came with an Anna Griffin auto ship – where you get periodic product shipments. This is not like any auto shipments I’ve seen on HSN. Read on to find out why . . .
This is the autoship schedule and the included kits. So, here’s what’s different: Each kit is for a different medium to create something with the Maker. Anna Griffin created specific projects and assembly videos for each kit, and are meant to help the new owner learn how to use the Maker. The media are paper, felt, vinyl, iron-on, printable, faux leather, and fabric.

The kit included an image set called ‘Make Something You Love Printable Material Kit’.
Above is the instruction booklet for four printable projects.
There are also special instructions for cutting printable materials – printable clear sticker paper, printable sticker paper, and printable vinyl – on the Cricut.
There are 10 sheets of printable sticker paper, 5 sheets of printable vinyl, and 5 sheets of printable clear sticker paper.
Project #1: Book Plates – these are right up my alley because I have LOTS of books. I used sticker paper to make them.
Project #2: Gift Tags – aren’t these designs beautiful? I used white cardstock to make these.
Project #3: Recipe Stickers – I don’t use a recipe box, but I do have a Recipe Planner (of course, duh) – so I used the printable vinyl to make these stickers.
Project #4: Hello Tags – Funny story, but my friend recently had a review at work and one of her “Needs to Improve” items is to wear her nametag. So, you know I had to make her some disposable ones for when she can’t find hers, lol.

Brutus Monroe All Hallows Eve Card Kit

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making Halloween cards for my grandchildren with the Brutus Monroe All Hallows Eve Card Kit.

Above is a shot of the outside of the box – now if that doesn’t say Halloween, what does??? Ghosts, pumpkins, bubbling liquids – not sure about the candy cane – orange, green, white – I love that purple is a typical mainstay in Halloween color schemes.
Every kit from Brutus Monroe comes with a charm. I got this wicked witch, bwahahahaha!!
The stamps set is called “All Hallows Eve,” and it’s loaded with cute little trick-or-treaters and not too scary pumpkins, a bat and a spider.
The above embellishments include the five Cabochons, a Bag of Bones, and wooden pumpkins. The bones and pumpkins can be colored with markers or the new Aqua Pigments.
There’s a small jar of Glow-in-the-dark embossing powder, GITD Crushed Sea Glass, Aubergine Surface In, and a jar of GITD Sea Glass.
Above are three one-yard lengths of pumpkin, purple, and green ribbon.
There are ten glacene envelopes – these can be used to hold gift cards, or stickers, or anything else small and flat.
Above are five shaker pouches.
This is really cool!! It’s mesh with silver threads running through it.
There are eight toner cards – two of each design above. They can be run through a laminator with toner sheets – I love these!!
On the left is a square of really fine glitter adhesive-backed cardstock, and on the right is a sheet of regular green glitter cardstock.
A lot of paper comes in Brutus Monroe kits. Above are 6” x 6” striped and polka dotted sheets – two of each design.
Six sheets of white.
Finally, are twelve sheets of colored cardstock – two of each color.
I also got a few extras. On the left are toner sticker sheets that I can add toner foil to. Top right is Glow In the Dark Glitter Glaze, and bottom right is a package of assorted glitter paper.

I also downloaded some free svg’s from the Brutus Monroe site – one is pumpkin shapes and the other is jack-o-lantern faces – that I’m using to create some backgrounds. I uploaded the files to Cricut Design Space and cut them out of acetate.
Card #1: This is a toner card run through with silver foil. I colored all the All Hallows Eve stamped images with Brutus Monroe Aqua Pigments, tied green ribbon around the bottom, and added Nuvo drops on the webs to look like dew.
Card #2: I used the free pumpkin stencil and Glow In The Dark glitter glaze on the background, cut out ovals from paper in the kit with Sizzix dies, and added ribbon and a wooden pumpkin for accents.
Card #3: I used the other free stencil and the glitter glaze for the this pumpkin face background, and flags made from kit scraps line the top of the card I placed a piece mesh under the sentiment and added a cabochon as an accent.

How cute is this mummy girl peeking out from behind the flags???

Card #4: I used the Brutus Monroe Folkwave stencil and glitter glaze for this background. I die cut a circle in the center and put a piece of the mesh behind it.
Card #5: I used some cardstock from my stash for this card and angled two rectangular pieces for the background.
Card #6: This card also uses a toner layer foiled with silver foil, wrapped with purple ribbon.

September 2018 scarlet lime Planner Society Kit

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! The September 2018 scarlet lime Planner Society Kit is here!!!!

I get the Monthly Planner Society Kit Club subscription, as well as the Washi Tape Kit and the Box Sticker Kit. Above is a pic of the box. This is one of two planner kits I get each month – I love them both for different reasons. I love THIS one because it’s floral and girly – if you’re going to work, it may as well be in a pretty space, right?

FYI, I have no affiliation with The Planner Society, I just LOVE their planner kits 🙂
The Washi Tape Kit comes with three rolls of washi that are 30mm, 15mm, and 10mm wide. The roll at the top has a green background with a blue flower design.

The washi tape on the left is lavender with a vertical row of gold metallic bows across it.

The washi on the right has adorable pink foxes on a white background.
The Box Sticker Society Kit came in this dark yellow and white paper bag. It includes a half sheet of clipboard stickers, a half sheet of full boxes, a half sheet of half boxes, quarter boxes, and washi strips, and a half sheet of decorative and functional stickers.

The stickers are designed to fit in the Erin Condren, Inkwell Press, Paper Source planner, Happy Planner, and box style inserts from some etsy shops. The full boxes are 1.5” x 2”.
The Planner Kit is in this beautiful floral patterned bag – my favorite design in this kit.
Up first, are two clear bookmarks with stacked metallic gold bows and a pen with blue bows on a white barrel with blue sequins in the barrel.

The unique feature of these items is the dangle. I can take them off, switch them, or add different ones. How cool is that?????
There are a few foxes in the kit – they’re actually not overwhelming . . .

On the left is a set of sticky notes, in the center is a patch, and on the right is a clip.
There are three rolls of washi in the Planner Kit. On the left and right are pink and green skinny washi, and in the center is a floral design on a navy background.
Adhesive pockets make another appearance in this kit.
This sweet clear booklet is for holding stamp sets or other embellishments.
There are two sets of page markers – one gold and the other in patterns from the kit. There are also eight die cut tabs that I use to tab the weekly pages.
Lots of die cuts – I’m lovin’ the girls with flower baskets on their backs, and the bows with gold metallic accents.
The kit came with four sheets of deco stickers.
The paper in the Planner Society Kits is amazing. There are two sheets of vellum – one with foxes and the other with wreaths – and one sheet of acetate with gold metallic bows.

The cardstock is in the bottom pic – my favorite is the one with the pink flowers on a navy background – it has a woodgrain pattern on the background. I Love It.
Here’s my monthly spread – I overlaid my favorite navy cardstock with the gold bow acetate. I use this planner to organize my blog activities – the sticky notes are movable, so I can change my mind about what I’m posting when.

How pretty is that pen???
And, this is a weekly spread where I break down what I want to do, so it might actually happen, happen.

Isn’t this pretty? If you gotta work, it may as well be in a pretty space, right?

Little Peanut Party Decorations

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making Little Peanut Party Decorations for my granddaughters 1st birthday party.

In the Cricut Design Space screen shot from the top left, I’m making cupcake picks, treat bag toppers, elephant and peanut signs, cupcake wrappers, a ‘Little Peanut’ sign, and a flag banner.

I used Close To My Heart cardstock in Black, Whisper, Pixie, Bashful, Cotton Candy and Raspberry.
This is the flag banner. The flags are from the Cricut Decorative Banner cartridge, and the font is Waltograph from dafont.com.
This sign is from the Mini Moments cartridge.
I uploaded this peanut from Google Images. I first uploaded the background Pixie image – which was just an outline of the image – and then I uploaded the Whisper layer where I erased the open sections.
The elephant is from the Cricut Creative Memories – Stork Delivery cartridge.
The cupcake wrappers are from the Cricut Anna’s Bridal and Baby Soirees cartridge.
These are the cupcake picks. Ugh, all I had were wooden skewers that I use for grilling kabobs.

Yeah, so, they’re a little big, lol . . .
These are hanging decorations – how cute is this???? The bows and elephant spin when they’re hung up.
Now, These . . . These . . . Just came out awesome!!! The topper is from the Anna’s Ribbons and Bows cartridge. I got the candy from amazon – they’re Bright Pink Shimmer Sixlets.
Here’s the sign and the banner – how sweet is this? And she’s such a sweet punkin’ that she definitely deserves this!!!!!
Finally, here are the treat bags and cupcakes. They came out so darned cute and perfect for a one-year-old’s birthday party, don’tcha think?

Double Dog Birthday Card

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making a Double Dog Birthday Card for my son’s 27th birthday.

My son has two dogs that he is trying to train and I thought this would be a great card for him. Above is the design in Cricut Design Space. I actually came up with this design myself – I wanted a dog training theme and couldn’t find any examples on Pinterest – so this is what I came up with.
Here are the cut pieces. I used Close To My Heart cardstock in Sapphire and Tangerine for the balloons, Black, White Daisy, Charcoal, Almond and the background is from the Basic Fundamentals paper pack.

The Bulldog and Boston Terrier images are from the Pet Shop cartridge, the balloons are from Stretch Your Imagination and Close To My Heart You are Here. The font on the front layer is Cricut Sans, and the font on the inside is Anna’s Soiree Lettering – Grace Script.
Not a fan of piecing images together, BUT these were pretty easy.

TIP: when I’m cutting the pieces out, I immediately put them in a container, because I have lost tiny pieces before and had to recut. I reallllllly don’t like recutting . . . Just sayin’
Y’know I had to sparkle it up a little . . . I added CTMH Clear Glimmer to the dogs and the balloons. I also added some Ranger Glossy Accents to the reflection spaces on the balloons.
Here’s the finished card. Aren’t those puppies adorable? His dogs are Bubbles – a Boston Terrier/Dachsund mix (an unusual looking dog to say the least), and Brutus – an American Bully. They are so darned happy, cute, and energetic – oh, and the small one is definitely the boss, lol.
