Hello! Come on in and see what I’m doing today!

I am making one of my favorite projects – a card. I think of cards as mini art projects. Every one of them is different, and even if I have another card as an inspiration, it looks unique after I put my own spin on it!!

This card is for my son, who is turning 24 this year, and he is a Big Bang Theory fan.
Ken2I used my AWESOME CRICUT EXPLORE for this card. I got the svg files from svgcuttingfiles a while ago.

I uploaded the files into Cricut Design Space, flattened and printed them. Above is my printout with the registration marks for cutting.

Here is my AWESOME CRICUT EXPLORE reading the registration marks.

Advice:

1. Make sure your work area is not too bright or the machine can’t read the registration marks.

2. Use light colored paper or the machine can’t read the registration marks – I’ve seen some ways around this problem from the Silhouette community – seems to me, it involves putting white labels on the paper so the machine can read the registration marks.

Design Space has a “bleed” feature where the printer ink bleeds outside the edges of the design, so there are no white edges when the design is cut out.

Ken4Here are the cutouts – LOOK – NO WHITE EDGES!!! Sooooo cool!

I used Precise V5 Ultra Fine Red and Fine Black pens in the Explore to write the sentiment.

Here’s the finished front of the card. I popped up the cut out and attached it to a piece of Close To My Heart (CTMH) Canary cardstock, which is attached to the CTMH White Daisy card base.

And . . . Here is the inside of the card, with “soft kitty” on the left and the sentiment, attached to a piece of CTMH Indian Corn Blue cardstock, on the right.

Normally, I would do more embellishing, but it’s for my son and I wanted it to be more masculine (even though it has a cartoon character on the front, and a kitten inside, lol).

Hey, if you’d like to see some of my other projects, check out my Instagram and Pinterest board, and I would LOVE it if you would follow me.

As always, I’m Livin’ the Moments . . .
