January 2019 Cocoa Daisy Kit Paper & Ink

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! The January 2019 Cocoa Daisy Kit Paper & Ink is here!!!

I get the Monthly Cocoa Daisy Planner Kit subscription, as well as the Planner Add On and the Classified Kit. Above is a pic of the inside of the box. This is one of two planner kits I get each month – I love them both for different reasons. I love THIS one because it’s always so colorful and uses shapes and patterns throughout their designs – if you’re going to work, it may as well be in a pretty space, right?

FYI, I have no affiliation with Cocoa Daisy, I just LOVE their planner kits 🙂
Here’s a peek inside the box – surrounded by their signature yellow tissue paper are the kits – oooo, I see a pen, washi, an ink cube . . .
Included in each kit is a card from Christine – kind of a personal note to the subscriber, if you will. They’re launching a new “Memory Keeping Traveler’s Notebook” kit. Hmm, I need to check that out!!
This is the Planner Add On Kit – the items in this kit are completely different from those in the Planner Kit.

Includes:
• Elements sheet by Just Jaimee
• General planner sticker sheet by Just Jaimee
• Extra sticker sheet by Just Jaimee
• Three 3×4 notecards
• 4×6 notecard

• Die cuts by Just Jaimee
• Thin black with white floral pattern washi
• “New Plan” stamp set by Just Jaimee – I didn’t get this, hmmmm . . .
• Silver/grey ink cube
• Three ribbon clips
The Classified Kit – it’s supposed to be a secret until it arrives. There are spoiler videos out there, but I really like being surprised.

There are sticker sheets, a flocked sticker sheet, a Simon trading card, two pen holders, a roll of washi, two charm clips, and a set of die cuts.
Finally, the planner kit – it comes in a clear drawstring bag.

Anna’s Window Ledge Card

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making an Anna’s Window Ledge Card for my sister-in-law’s birthday.

This is a digital cartridge for Cricut Design Space – it was part of an HSN AutoShip, and the specific one in the sets that I was looking forward to the most. There is also a die set available that can be used to create similar cards.
This is the inspiration for my card – I also watched an assembly video that was very helpful for how to get the 3D effect of the awning and the flower box, as well as what order to put the pieces together.
These are the pieces – I’m adding a schnauzer because that’s the kind of dog my brother and sister-in-law have. I used Close To My Heart cardstock in Raspberry and White Daisy. The patterned paper is from some Anna Griffin paper packs in my stash – I love the vintage floral designs and colors.
Here are the first two layers – okay . . . so far, so good . . .
This is where the video came in handy – I wasn’t sure about the placement of the curtains . . . about 1/4 inch down from the top edge of the wallpaper.
Then the window is placed over the curtains.
I put a piece of foam tape under the bottom edge of the awning to make it dimensional – I didn’t adhere the foam because I want the windows to look like they’re open – see the next set of pics.
I also added foam tape under the bottom edge of the flower box – making sure the window can still open after it’s adhered.
Next is the dog – it’s peeking out the window – aaaakkkkk, how cute is that??
I printed several flowers that were included in the digital cartridge and layered them in the flower box.
The final touch is the sentiment banner over the front of the flower box – it was created with Cricut’s Print and Cut feature.
How sweet is this card? I just love cards that have lots of details to look at – the awning, curtains, wallpaper, flower box, various flowers and leaves, sentiment banner, and of course, the puppy.

2018 December Daily Part 4

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! Here is my 2018 December Daily Part 4. I used the Layle Koncar December Days Kit, the Ali Edwards December Daily Kit, as well as a bunch of stuff from my stash.

This is the last part of this year’s book – read on to see how I finished it.
We spent Christmas Eve going to church with our youngest son and his girlfriend and then went to their house for a bit. This was a new tradition that I hope to continue next year.

The girl holding the gifts was fussy cut from a paper in the December 2018 Cocoa Daisy kit.
The booklet in the top left pocket has pics from Christmas Day – booklets are an easy way to add extra pics – there’s also a pic under the flap on the right page.
I was thinking about what brings me joy – it’s ALWAYS my children and grandchildren . . .
These are some sweet memories from the holiday season.
Here are my mischievous cats – Link and Zelda – they’re so curious and think they have to be in the middle of whatever is going on.
This is another idea from the Ali Edwards class. I drew four horizontal lines across two pages, printed out covers of the books I read this year, cut them out and stitched them to the lines, forming a tree. How cool is that?

The heart was a download, also from Ali Edwards.
These are some of the great grandchildren from my dad’s side of the family on the left. On the right is another idea from Ali Edwards – I stamped across the top of tags from the kit, printed the pics on my Zinc, labeled under them, and put them in pockets.

Using a tree clip from the December 2018 Cocoa Daisy kit, I added a chipboard number, a metal Tim Holtz snowflake, and a vellum sentiment on a piece of red and white baker’s twine.
On the backside of the tags, I added pics of the gift opening. On the right is another Ali Edwards idea – the tree was an svg that I cut out with my Cricut and then I covered the strips with washi – adding a rubber star to the top.
Here’s our sweet dog, Sage – visiting Santa Paws, barking at a squirrel in the tree outside the window, fishing with my husband, swimming, and riding in the boat.

She is certainly living a charmed life . . . every animal should be so lucky . . .
Happy, Happy End of 2018 . . . It was a great year!!!

2018 December Daily Part 3

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! Here is my 2018 December Daily Part 3. I used the Layle Koncar December Days Kit, the Ali Edwards December Daily Kit, as well as a bunch of stuff from my stash.

Above is the front cover – the binder was included in the Layle Koncar kit. It’s so full . . . lots of memories from 2018.
This is my son and his girlfriend – isn’t she adorable??? My boys picked really sweet girls, I’m so lucky . . .
These are some light pictures – top left is from a shopping center we go to, top right is the front of our house, and the bottom is a pic of our son’s house. Plenty of Christmas spirit around here.
The “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” by Barenaked Ladies is my favorite Christmas song. I printed a copy of the sheet music and edged it with some Tim Holtz Tea Dye to give it an aged look.

I put photo Christmas cards we received in the pocket, as well.
It was Ugly Sweater Day at work – y’know, I really don’t understand this whole “Ugly Sweater” thing – I mean, these ARE my Christmas sweaters, lol . . .
I like to add recipes every year of the things I only make at Christmas. This year is a recipe for microwave Chex Mix – I added a pic, and the recipe card.
This was a page idea from Ali Edwards. I stamped Who, What, Where, When and Why on 2×2 cards. We have a local furniture store that converts over to Christmas in December – it’s so cozy and cute. I love seeing their products displayed as if it’s in my own home.
Here’s the backside of the 2×2 pages – I have SO MUCH ephemera to choose from.
On our way to church, we say these swans out in the water – how cool are they?????

2018 December Daily Part 2

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! Here is my 2018 December Daily Part 2. I used the Layle Koncar December Days Kit, the Ali Edwards December Daily Kit, as well as a bunch of stu2ff from my stash.

Above is the front cover – the binder was included in the Layle Koncar kit. It’s so full, I had to put a planner band around it to keep it together – I’m thinking’ there could be a better placement for the band, though . . .
I do a page for each of my children, as well as each grandchild and each pet. Above is my oldest daughter, her husband and their family.
Here is my oldest granddaughter – she’s 11, an avid reader, a dancer, and really, really smart. Oh, and in the top right pic, she’s drinking a soda (not something she gets to do very often) – the look on her face is just priceless . . .
My oldest grandson is 7. He’s a Lego Master Builder, has a dry sense of humor, and is a Badger fan. He’s not amused by Papa’s antics in the top right pic, lol.
Our 15-month-old granddaughter has the most impressive eyes ever, likes books, and is always so darned happy.
This is my other daughter and her husband – there are pictures in the flip-through booklet in the top right pocket.
Our six-year-old grandson has a really sweet, lovable personality, likes Transformers and Legos, and loves, loves, loves his baby sister.
Here’s the baby, she’s 7 months old, has beautiful blue eyes, smiles with her entire body, and is a little ray of sunshine.
This is my son and his wife. They just moved to Washington, DC. Not that far away – “only an 8 1/2 hour drive” (sniff, sniff).

2018 December Daily Part 1

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! Here is my December Daily 2018 Part 1. I used the Layle Koncar December Days Kit, the Ali Edwards December Daily Kit, as well as a bunch of stuff from my stash.

Above is the front cover – the binder was included in the Layle Koncar kit. It’s so full, I had to put a planner band around it to keep it together. Isn’t that awesome?????
Here’s a side shot – Full. Full. Full. I had so much fun making each and every page in it.
On the left is a set of tags on a ring with some embellishments hanging off of them. Ali Edwards encourages adding “other voices” – the tags are filled out by family members and inserted here.
Under the tree divider on the left is my “Reason Why.” The calendar on the right was free from Stitchintime – there are several calendars to choose from.

Black Friday shopping is a tradition with my daughter – I made a list of ten things we did.
Here I journaled directly on the page with the pics. The tab on the right encourages the reader to lift the flap and look underneath.
The Lambs Farm craft show is another yearly tradition – I added pics of my purchases.
We’re with our son and his girlfriend – we watched the Big 10 Football Championship together.
This was a new activity for us – a local church created a Bethlehem Market – complete with sand, soldiers, hawkers, angels, Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus.
A woman I work with and her husband’s family own a local Christmas Tree Farm that is closing this year, after many years in business.
Our Christmas Card. We take a family pic in front of our house every summer and use it for our Christmas card.
I take a lot of couple selfies throughout the year and add them to the book.

Starbucks always has festive-looking products I like to add, as well.
These are some of our favorite places to eat and spend time with friends.
My work Christmas party – it’s the best place to work, everrrrrrr!!!
Our beautiful grandchildren.
We celebrated Christmas early this year with our children and grandchildren. There are always LOTS of photos – this tree pocket holds them all.

2018 December Daily Foundation Pages

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! These are my 2018 December Daily Foundation Pages. I start my “December” book the day after Thanksgiving, to include Black Friday, and end on New Year’s Eve.

Foundation Pages are set up in anticipation of events through the holiday season. They are not, however, set in stone. I change them A Lot as the days go by to better fit my story and pictures.

I use the Layle Koncar December Days Kit and the ali edwards December Daily Kits for the foundation pages. Above is the binder with a ribbon tied around the front leaf, a chipboard santa, “be jolly” sticker, and adhesive-backed pearls.
Inside the left cover, I added a clear pocket from the December Cocoa Daisy Kit, and die cuts. On the right is a black and white checked page with more die cuts.
On the left is a tree divider I created with a tree stencil, and on the right is a free calendar from stitch-in-time.
These pages are from the ali edwards kit – the Merry Christmas background is from a digital file and the wreath is cut from one of the kit papers.
This is a project from an ali edwards class I purchased. As with almost anything I do, I used her idea and made it my own by changing it to fit what I needed.
I created a tree shape for this page – hopefully you’ss notice a tree theme throughout the book.
Day 1. I stuck some 4×4 photo pockets in the sleeve on the left and added sticky notes with photo dimensions where I wanted photos.
Day 2. Adding pages without pics, like on the right, is a nice rest for the viewer.
Days 3 and 4 have a smaller page in between that divides them. I can add a pocket page here later if I want.
Day 4. Sometimes a single pic is enough. Again, I can insert another page if I need it.
Day 5. A variety of pic sizes adds interest.
Day 6. Sometimes I added journaling cards in beforehand. I’ll add lots more as I complete the pages.
Day 7. Adding outlines around the page edges adds a no-fuss decorative touch.
Day 8. The trees on the right side are stitched along the right, left, and bottom edges, forming a pocket for pictures, or whatever other paraphernalia I want to add.
The beauty of creating pages like these, I can cover up that messy spot on the white insert on the right page, lol.
Day 9.
Day 10.
Day 11 & 12. Sometimes I clipped decorative pieces to the page to attach later.
Day 13. In the top right packet is a booklet that will hold several photos.
Day 14.
Day 15.
Day 16. The number is on a cutout divider – a nice change of pace.
Filler page – a simple way to add more pics.
Day 17. This looks like a lot of space to fill, but if I put a 6×5 photo in and add a journaling card, it’ll be full.
Day 18.
Day 19. I like to add a holiday recipe each year. The folder is useful for holding stuff . . .
Day 20. Another tree divider.
Day 21.
Day 22. This has a fold-out feature – another interactive page.
Day 23.
Day 24.
Day 25. Top left is another booklet for extra photos.
Day 26. These 2×2 pages are so fun to fill in.
Day 27.
Day 28. This is supposed to look like a tree when it’s finished. I’m going to list all the books I read in 2018 on the tags and attach them.
Day 29. How cute are these tags?
Day 30.
Day 31. These are GIANT cork numbers – aren’t they awesome????

Let’s get started, shall we?

November 2018 scarlet lime Planner Society Kit

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! The November 2018 scarlet lime Planner Society Kit is here!!!!
I get the Monthly Planner Society Kit Club subscription, as well as the Washi Tape Kit and the Box Sticker Kit. Above is a pic of the box. This is one of two planner kits I get each month – I love them both for different reasons. I love THIS one because it’s floral and girly – if you’re going to work, it may as well be in a pretty space, right?
FYI, I have no affiliation with The Planner Society, I just LOVE their planner kits 🙂
The Washi Tape Kit comes with three rolls of washi that are 30mm, 15mm, and 10mm wide. This month, it came in a paper bag with the Planner Girls on it.
The washi roll on the left has a pink floral design on a black black background.
The washi tape in the center has a horizontal row of pink deer and flowers.
The washi on the right has stripes of the kits designs.
The Box Sticker Society Kit came in this rustic wood patterned paper bag with a large pink floral design. It includes a half sheet of clipboard stickers, a half sheet of full boxes, a half sheet of half boxes, quarter boxes, and washi strips, and a half sheet of decorative and functional stickers.
The stickers are designed to fit in the Erin Condren, Inkwell Press, Paper Source planner, Happy Planner, and box style inserts from some etsy shops. The full boxes are 1.5” x 2”.
The main planner kit came in this floral on black background designed paper bag.
Two rolls of washi were included in the kit – one with a floral design on a white background and the other is red and black buffalo plaid.
In this bag are the supplies to make a charm bookmark. There’s a video on the Facebook ‘The Planner Society #officialgroup’ page. Read on from Christy:
“It’s finally here! The video of how to make the charm bookmark with the beads in your November kit is below! I’ll set this post as an announcement so you can find it easier but also search for
Charm bookmark here in the group.
If you ever want to find it again!
Xoxo
Christy”
How pretty is this pen? It has a flower charm that dangles from the cap end. There are also two notepads in the kit – both have a TPG on them.
And, with these acrylic stamps, I can stamp the girls anywhere I want in my planner. That reindeer paperclip is so adorable, especially the red and black buffalo plaid bow . . .
There are always page tabs with four sheets of labels.
These are die cuts – the images are on thick cardstock and the words are on vellum.
The Planner Girls are on cardstock as well as vellum this month. There are also journal cards with space to the girls on them.
There are five sheets of stickers – four have images and the other has sentence strips.
These are a fairly new addition to the kits – they are designed strips and bows.
The alpha stickers are in rose gold and have dots on them that gives them dimension.
Finally, the paper . . . In the top photo are two sheets of vellum – one with the Planner Girls and the other is pink plaid. The floral design is on acetate.
The bottom pic shows the six sheets of designed cardstock. So, so pretty . . .

November 2018 Brutus Monroe Dream Catching Inspiration Box

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! This is the November 2018 Brutus Monroe Dream Catching Inspiration Box. This is a card inspiration kit and comes with all kinds of products to make beautiful cards.

Above is a picture of the outside of the box – feathers and beads – looks like dream catcher supplies, right???

Here’s a view inside the box – lots of fun-looking stuff.

Every inspiration box thus far comes with a charm in the theme of the box – this time it’s a feather with a piece of turquoise (not real) attached to it.

There are two different types of feathers included – one with a brown pattern and the other are pure white. There is also a length of twine, rather than ribbon – definitely goes with the theme.

Above are three orange drawstring velour bags and a bag of beads – for dreamcatchers, of course. There’s also a small size Surface Ink in Sea and a small container of green glitter – it has a lot of blue in it as well as yellow. Finally, there’s a .98” wide roll of David Tutera burlap duct tape.

This 6×8 stamp set is called ‘Catching Dreams.’

Above are the toner card designs – there are two each of four designs – wow, check out the intricate patterns . . .

There are two sheets of glitter cardstock – one blue and one white.

The six sheets of patterned cardstock are beautiful – I love the art deco designs!!!!

Six sheets of white are always included for use as card bases.

Finally, there is LOTS of cardstock – two sheets each of medium blue, light blue, medium green, light green, medium yellow, and light yellow.

This is a card I made from the kit for my daughter’s birthday.

This is a toner card from the kit foiled with Brutus Monroe Thermoweb foil and is embellished with feathers (also from the kit).

Another toner card with a heat embossed sentiment.

The final card is also a toner card with a die cut “thanks” from Brutus Monroe.

Autumn Tag Birthday Card

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making an Autumn Tag Birthday Card for my sister-in-law’s birthday.

I used the Simon Says Stamp November 2018 Card Kit, shown above, to create the card – click this link if you want to see what other cards I made using the supplies from this kit.

Using the stamp set from the kit, I embossed an all over leaf background on Kraft cardstock with Brutus Monroe Golden Gourd embossing powder.

Brutus Monroe makes the BEST embossing powder, btw – it melts so easily and looks nice and smooth.

After adding a strip of Kraft cardstock along the bottom edge of a tag, I embossed “Happy Birthday” using the Avery Elle Sentimental stamp set and Brutus Monroe Golden Gourd embossing powder. The Kraft strip emphasizes the sentiment.

Then I used Tim Holtz Distress Oxide in walnut stain to blend the color all over the tab – it really makes the tag look different, don’t you think?

I spritzed the tag with water – creating a cool effect where the water sits – some tiny and some larger.

I love using this technique – it adds some interest to an otherwise solid background.

I added a piece of shimmer ribbon from my stash and stapled it with the mini attacher.

I blended the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink around the edges of the leaf card layer and attached the tag diagonally across the front of the card. Then I adhered the embossed layer to the card base.

Here’s the finished card paired with the orange envelope from the kit. If that doesn’t speak Autumn, what does?
