Lego Birthday Card

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making a Lego Birthday Card for my grandson.

Above is a screen shot of the design in Cricut Design Space 3. I love customizing my birthday cards and CD3 makes it sooooo easy!!
This is the inspiration for my card. I searched “lego birthday cards” on Pinterest – it’s amazing how many come up! Don’t do this if you’re going to sell your cards – it would be plagiarism. This card is for my personal use. Also, always, always, always give credit to where your inspiration came from.
Here are the cutout pieces. I used Close To My Heart cardstock in Lemon, White Daisy and Black. The green and red are from the ‘textured Cardstock brights’ paper pad from the Paper Studio. The font is Cricut Sans and the “Happy Birthday” is from the Cricut Space Party cartridge.
I used pop dots under the circles to create the Lego blocks.
The knobs (?) were highlighted on the top right edges with a white uni-ball Signo pen, creating realistic reflections.
The white layer was embossed using the Cricut cuttlebug Happy Birthday embossing folder.
I inked the edges with CTMH lemon ink.
The inspiration card has a six on it, but I needed a 5. It was pretty easy to create a 5 instead. Even so, I had to work on the spacing a little so it would be centered and leave room below for the label.

The left pic has the Lego blocks added, the center pic has the “Happy Birthday” centered at the bottom, and the right pic shows this layer added to the black layer.
Here is the finished card. The layers from above were attached to the lemon base, with the sentiment written on the inside by my Cricut Maker. I used the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board to make the matching envelope.

2017 December Daily Third Week

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m working on my 2017 December Daily Third Week.

I got a kit from Layle Koncar that includes instructions, a binder, inserts, a roller stamp, plaid washi, numbers, jingle bells, paper, stickers, cardstock die cuts and patterned paper. I did all the foundation pages beforehand – now all I have to do is add my pictures and journal the story.
Here we go . . . This is Day 10 for my grandson Liam who is 6 1/2 years old. He lost a front tooth – such a childhood milestone . . .
Day 11 is of my newest granddaughter Bridget – she was born in September and starting to smile and giggle – sooooo cute!!
Day 12 is my oldest granddaughter, Annabelle, who is 10 this year. For Christmas, she wants books, books, and more books, lol.
Day 13 is from work. I’ve worked there for a year and these, seriously, are the most generous, nicest, fun people.
Day 14 is of our tree – I found the poem on the right from the Internet and loved it. I used an app called ‘Capture the Magic’ to add an overlay of sparkling light circles to the owl ornament on the left.
Day 15 is a recipe for Creme de Menthe brownies I make every year.
Finally, Day 16 is Starbucks. I love how they make design cups specifically for the holidays. The top photo shows this years’ cup design, their cookie, and a treat bag.

The bottom pic is some free stickers I downloaded from Google Images – the long sticker is of the cups from last year. On the right is a gift card you can put on a key ring – how cool is that????

Stay tuned for Week 4 . . .

January 2018 Cocoa Daisy Dori Standard Kit

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! The January 2018 Cocoa Daisy Dori Standard kit “Maps” is here!!!

Above is the distinctive yellow polka-dotted box – looks like it had quite a journey, lol.
Inside is some bright yellow crinkle paper.
This is a new card – honestly, I haven’t even noticed the card recently. I looked back and I haven’t been taking pics of them . . . The ones I found are business card size and say “Hello” or “Smile” on them . . . I like this . . .
I subscribed to the Classified kit – no sneaks – I like having a little surprise every month . . .
Ooooo, this is what’s inside . . .
This is an acrylic stamp – looks like a coffee ring, right? Not sure about the small one . . .
Black and white striped washi tape.
Simon P.B. Card – how cute is that????
Arrow stickers, hexagon stickers, and an acetate sheet with a world map design.
Finally are these badges that you can make a planner charm and a paper clip with.
Above is the Planner Add On Kit – none of these items are in the Planner Kit – it comes in a clear plastic bag.
“a little roll of happy” called Longitude.
Cream Tag sticky notes – and a SURPRISE!!!! I believe this is the “Skinny Dip” PenGems pen. I wonder what the “completely different plan” was . . .
The two adhesive-backed pockets are new items, and there are four map-patterned binder clips.
On the left are die cuts designed by Just Jaimee.

On the right are two 3×4 notecards and one 4×6 notecard. There are also three sheets of stickers, an extra planner sticker sheet, a general planner sticker sheet, and a sticker elements sheet, all designed by Just Jaimee.
After all that, I’m not even to the Planner Kit!! Above is the muslin bag and a map-patterned pencil pouch.
First up, are two Map fabric bows (they’re a soft velour fabric), one is a paper clip and the other has a charm clasp.

The Blue Tag sticky notes and 3×5 notepad were designed by arleigh – I love the dots – they help me write in a straight line . . . AND they’re pretty . . .
The six tab die cuts and the planner die cuts were designed by arleigh.
Cocoa Daisy exclusive Map washi tape by arleigh
How cool are these? Simon & Betty “trading cards” – yep, they’re new . . .
This is the Cocoa Daisy Dori – it has a Kraft cover that you can decorate. I use this to track what I eat and when I exercise.
The pages included are:
• A Monthly Calendar
• 3 lined journaling pages
• 11 blank (with design) pages
• 10 graph paper pages with 3 sections
• 10 unlined pages with 3 sections
• Last page has the luggage tag design
More stickers – a 5×7 planner sticker sheet, a date sticker sheet designed by arleigh, and a tab label sticker sheet designed by Just Jaimee.

Cocoa Daisy has the best color combinations.
Finally, there are six 6×8 papers designed by arleigh – it’s really, really busy – I think I would like a few with more subtle designs.
Here’s a shot of the entire kit.
This is my daily planner for keeping track of my work schedule, birthdays, anniversaries, events, etc. I love working in a pretty space, don’t you?
This is the first week spread. I used my We R Memory Keepers planner punch to punch the side of one of the papers and attached one of the clear pockets on it. Perfect for holding the cards and the sticky notes.

Book Birthday Card

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making a Book Birthday Card for my granddaughter’s tenth birthday.

Above is a screenshot of the card I designed in Cricut Design Space 3. This is one of the reasons I make my own cards – I can customize them however I want – check out the titles on the books, lol.

I found this card on Pinterest and thought I could definitely recreate it  . . .

Here are the cutout pieces. I used Close To My Heart cardstock in Black, Indian Corn Blue (retired), Colonial White, Fern, Tangerine, and Thistle.
My granddaughter is currently reading the Harry Potter books again, so I printed a two-page spread from one of the books to fit the card dimensions. Then I inked the edges with CTMH Cocoa ink. I had the library book pocket in my stash and used it to hold the Barnes & Noble gift card we got her.

I used the mini Score-Buddy to put ridges on the book “spines”.
Here are the books aged by inking them up . . .
The books are adhered to the outside of the card base – “Happy Birthday” is from the Cricut ‘Paper Lace’ cartridge. The fonts on the book titles are Cricut Sans, Bookmark, and Soiree Lettering Grace Script.
I had to crease the two books on the right because they are on the fold – I love how realistic this made them look.
Here’s the outside of the card with the envelope.
Here’s the inside of the card. I attached the library pocket on the left side – as I said earlier, it’s perfect for holding the Barnes & Noble gift card.

Turns out one of her favorite activities is going to Barnes & Noble and reading while enjoying a cup of hot chocolate. She truly is my granddaughter . . .

2017 December Daily Second Week

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m working on my 2017 December Daily Second Week.

Above is Day 3 where I took a picture of my heidi swapp Mini Light Box – this was a new purchase this year and it’s so fun to change it for different occasions.
Day 4 is a To-Do List page – there are always lists to make this time of year . . .
Day 5 is my grandson’s page – he was decorating cookies in the left picture. On the right is a drawing of his family he made at school – I loved that he included Nana and Papa – how sweet is that????
I need to add something on the left page – there’s an empty spot . . . my OCD doesn’t like that . . .

On the right he’s making a gingerbread house.
Day 6 is my daughter and son-in-law and the good news we received this year.
Day 7 is for my youngest son. He just started dating a really nice girl we like a lot. They went to Indianapolis for the weekend and the holiday lights in their pictures are incredible.
Above is a shot of them with the lights soaring up behind them.
Day 8 depicts our four-legged friends. Above is our dog, Sage. She is five years old and such a happy dog – she’s telling Puppy Santa what she wants for Christmas, lol.
On the right are our two cats – they are brother and sister and Full. Of. Mischief. Just sayin’ . . .
This is our son’s puppy that he adopted in the spring. Isn’t she adorable????

December 2017 scribbleprintsco Mystery Ultimate Kit

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! Here’s the December 2017 scribbleprintsco Mystery Ultimate Kit.

The large sticker on the back of the mailer gives a hint of the kits’ theme.

Looks like pastel gray and pink flowers . . . I LOVE the flowers . . .
The kit comes with a full set of stickers and a sticky note pad that coordinates with the colors and theme of the kit. The coordinating sticky notes are only available in this kit (which means you can’t buy them in the shop).
Above are mini sheets of alarm clocks, bathing dinos, and a freebie sampler in the kits’ colors. There is also a full sampler sheet – it has Lush bath bomb stickers – how cool is that?
On the left is a full box with a lit candle, the bottom washi, and the days of the week.

On the right are 8 full boxes – “stay in bed” – love that . . . The marble background is elegant and beautiful!!
The left full sheet has heart checklists on marble backgrounds. The sheet on the right has trackers, flags, icons, and checklist flags. The bottom sheet is habit trackers, flags, quarter boxes and half boxes.
On the left is solid washi and headers, on the right are the glitter washi strips, flags, and quarter boxes (available in her shop ala carte), and the bottom full sheet is marble washi and headers.
Here’s a shot of the entire kit – such prettiness – I love the colors, the flowers, and especially, the glitter . . .
This is a week-on-two-pages spread in my daily planner. I usually don’t decorate in a “no white space” style, but I like to use my scribble prints kits in this way for a change of pace in the middle of the month. What do you think?

SVGCuts Falling Leaves Waterfall Card

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making the SVGCuts Falling Leaves Waterfall Card from their Acorn Autumn SVG Kit.

Above is a screen shot of the svg files in Cricut Design Space. One of the great things about making your own cards is that you can personalize them and make them look professional.

I pretty much only use SVGCuts files because . . . I love them. However, two things to remember when using their files: #1 – change the score lines from cut to score; #2 – attach the score lines to the appropriate pieces.
These are the cutout pieces. I used Close To My Heart cardstock in Espresso and Linen (new colors this year), and their Fundamentals paper from the Basics and Enchantment paper packs.
As mentioned earlier, this is a waterfall card, which means when you pull the tab, the pieces slide over each other and create a waterfall effect.

FYI, I have to watch a video when assembling this card . . . just sayin’ . . .

In the left pic, I folded the slider (striped piece) along the score lines and attached it to the bottom panel with small brads. The middle pic shows the bottom panel glued to the card base. The right pic shows the decorative handle attached.
These photos show the addition of each of the panels that the falling leaves will be attached to. I glued each one on a score lined section, pulled it up, and continued adding until all three were attached. If that’s confusing, watch the video, lol.

How pretty is this paper???
Finally, I added the leaves to the panels. As simple as that . . .
And, here’s the finished card. I also added a piece of rickrack to the hole for pulling the sections through the loop. I love making my own cards . . .

2017 December Daily First Week

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m working on my 2017 December Daily First Week.

I got a kit from Layle Koncar that includes instructions, a binder, inserts, a roller stamp, plaid washi, numbers, jingle bells, paper, stickers, cardstock die cuts and patterned paper. I will also use embellishments from my stash – which I happen to have a lot of, lol.

Above is the introduction – on the left is the inside of the cover. I glued a piece of patterned cardstock to the inside, added ’17 and a photo. The photo is of an ornament from my tree. I used an awesome app called ‘Capture the Magic’ to put a sparkly overlay on the photo that literally . . . makes it sparkle.

On the right is ‘the reason why’ – there are LOTS of ways to do this, and I like short and sweet. I got the acetate on the right from a Cocoa Daisy monthly subscription kit and layered it over a piece of cream cardstock.
The left photo shows me, my daughters, and my newest grandchild after Black Friday shopping – missed my daughter-in-law this year . . .

On the right is our first 2017 Christmas party – so fun journaling on a postcard.
I have gone to the Lambs Farm Craft Show at Arlington Racecourse in Arlington Heights, Illinois (it used to be at the Rosemont Convention Center) almost every year for 30+ years. It’s a great girls day . . .
I made an awesome SVGCuts Heirloom Christmas Tree this year and wanted to put it in my book. I’ll link my blog where I show the process I used to make it.
This is a filler page that I used Stickles Diamond glitter glue to embellish – made it all glittery. Ach, Love It!!

Having the foundation pages completed beforehand is making this so, so easy. Stay tuned for the next week . . .

2017 December Daily Foundation Pages

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m working on my 2017 December Daily Foundation Pages. Once the foundation pages are set up, all I have to do is add my photos and journaling.

I got a kit from Layle Koncar that includes instructions, a binder, inserts, a roller stamp, plaid washi, numbers, jingle bells, paper, stickers, cardstock die cuts and patterned paper.

Above is the inside of the cover – I haven’t decided what to put there yet . . . a special picture of something that happens this month . . .

On the right is “the reason why” – my introduction to the book – and a sheet of acetate from my December Cocoa Daisy Kit that serves as a background.
This is Day 1 – it’s a circle with a slice off one side and an awesome vintage Santa smiling at me . . .
I’m combining two spreads together so there aren’t so many pictures. The top shows Day 1 on the left – the ‘comfort and joy’ card folds back to show a picture, and Day 2 on the right is part of a 2×2 pocket page.

The bottom pic on the left is the backside of Day 2 and a full page of a snow-covered tree is on the right.
Top left is Day 3 – a lined page and on the right is Day 4, which is a numbered ‘making a list’ page.

The bottom left is a small insert for a pic and on the right is Day 5, where I stamped ‘Happy Holidays’ repeatedly all over the 5 die cut.
The top pic of Day 6 has a space for a pic on the left and a journaling card, and the ‘we wish you a merry Christmas’ card flips up to reveal the 6.

On the bottom is Day 7 with a place for a smaller pic on the left and an awesome DECEMBER cutout insert on the right.
Day 8 is a simple two-page spread with graph paper – this makes lining up photos and writing the story a snap.

At the bottom is Day 9 with a full page on the left for photos, and on the right is a pocket with a tag I can pull out for journaling.
The Day 10 page at the top photo folds out to the right, and the bottom shows Day 11 on the left and Day 12 on the right – I’m going to make it a shaker on the left edge under the 12.
Day 13 is the cup of hot cocoa -there’s a space for 2 4×4 pics. The bottom is Day 14 – not really sure what I’m going to do with the calendar . . .
Day 15 is at the top with a full graph page on the right for photos and journaling.

And Day 16 is on the bottom with a full page of wood planks on the left and room for two 3×4 pics in the right pockets.
The top photo has room for 2 photos for Day 17 and a place to list traditions on the insert to the right.

The bottom photo is Day 18 – space for a small photo and some journaling.
Day 19 is at the top – the left side has room for journaling and the right side has a pocket for a photo.

The bottom is for Day 20 – plenty of room for a photo and journaling on the left, and a pocket for cards, tickets, stickers, or whatever I collect.
In the top pic are Day 21 and 22. For Day 21, I made a pocket out of the postcard, and Day 22 needs a 4×4 pic with the green gingham as a border.

The bottom pic is for Day 23, there’s a space for a 4×4 pic on the left.
Day 24 is at the top – there’s space for a pic on the green gingham and on the right are three pockets and space for journaling.

The bottom pic is for Christmas Day – since our kids are grown up and have their own family Christmas’s, we go to church and sometimes a movie, perfect place to record whatever we do that day . . .
More space for Christmas Day pics in the top pic and the bottom left page. The Christmas Countdown is an extra page – since I use a calendar, not sure what I’ll do with this . ..
Here’s the inside of the back cover – I made a pocket for any extra stuff – stickers, tags, extra pics. I will still add two days from November at the beginning (Black Friday and a family Christmas party), and December 26 to 31 (extra things I want to add, our final family Christmas party is December 30, and New Year’s Eve).

There it is, all set up – since the designing is done, all I have to do is document our 2017 Christmas memories. Can’t wait . . .

2017 December Daily Cover and Supplies

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m working on my 2017 December Daily Cover and Supplies.

I got a kit from Layle Koncar that includes instructions, a binder, inserts, a roller stamp, plaid washi, numbers, jingle bells, paper, stickers, cardstock die cuts and patterned paper. The binder is above and has a woodgrain background, red “merry”, large white snowflakes, stars, red snowflakes, and white dots.
The inside of the binder is lined with red and white diagonal stripes. And a full set of inserts is included.
The best part of buying this particular kit is the set of instructions that’s included. A Lot Of Planning goes into designing the pages and this should make the process so much easier – now I can focus on telling the stories . . .
Here’s a pic of all the supplies in the kit.
A stitchintime has free calendars every year that you can download – there are usually three to choose from. I chose the one above because it goes perfectly with the kit.

Here are the choices this year – blue with pine trees and prancing reindeer, a vintage red van with a tree on top and stars, and the plain blue shadow lettered December. All you have to do is download the one you want.
Above is the finished cover. I used pop dots to attach the snowflakes over the covers’ snowflakes and added pearls to the white dots. Then I wrapped red and white twine around the front, tied jingle bells and a die cut to the ends and voila, the cover is done. It’s so easy when someone else tells you what to do and you already have the supplies. Just sayin’ . . .
