And, here is the first week spread in May – I am blown away by how well all the pieces in this kit go together. I love working in a pretty space . . . Don’t you?

Pirate Birthday Easel Card

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making a Pirate Birthday Easel Card for my grandson’s 6th birthday.

Above is a screenshot of the card in Cricut Design Space. I love that I can lay out a card here and make changes before actually constructing it.
Above is the inspiration for my pirate card – I found this on Pinterest by searching “pirate birthday cards.”

The designer used 4 SVGCuts kits . . . Challenge Accepted . . .

Above are the dimensions for the pieces . . . Oh Boy . . . Honestly, I only had to change a few of them.
Here are the cutout pieces. I used Close To My Heart cardstock in Black, White Daisy, Cocoa, Pacifica, Desert Sand, Bamboo, Ruby, Whisper and Flaxen. I also used Tim Holtz cardstock from his Kraft Nostalgic and French Industrial paper packs.

The svg files are from SVGCuts Caramel Apple Pie, Pirate Birthday Party, Lil Peeps, and Trick or Treat Lil Peeps Kits.
I crumpled up the Desert Sand piece and inked it with CTMH Desert Sand ink.
This is the map – layered over black and the skull accent piece – I inked the edges with the Desert Sand ink. Don’t they look so freakin’ cool????
Here’s the front of the card – it was just a matter of following the design and placing the pieces.
This is the base folded along the scorelines.
I attached the assembled piece to the top folded section of the base.
Here’s a side view.
This is the ruffle with a nameplate. I inked the edges of all the pieces and attached the nameplate with brads from my stash.

“Liam Sparrow,” lol.
Here is a flat view of the card opened up.
And, this is the finished card. One of my best yet!?!?!?! Seriously, how awesome is this?????

Pirate Birthday Party Decorations

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making Pirate Birthday Party decorations using the SVGCuts Pirate Birthday Party Kit.

Above is a screenshot of the projects – cupcake wrapper and sail, eyepatch, skull tag, pirate pennant, flag, and a pirate ship wall decoration.

I have a really good feeling about this . . .
Here are the cutout pieces. I used Close To My Heart cardstock in Black, White Daisy and Chocolate.
The skull tag is only two pieces – just glue them together. My grandson LOVES pompoms, so I made one, using the We R Memory Keepers pompom maker, to go through the tag and attach to the gift.
This is the pirate ship wall decoration – I used the picture from their website to assemble it.
Here’s the flag wall decoration.
I made 8 pirate pennants and strung them together with some black twine.
This is what the pennants looked like hung up.
Here are the eyepatches. I got some black elastic and used my mini attacher to staple it to the eyepatches.
These are the cupcake wrappers and sail pieces.
This is one of the sails – pieces, assembled sail, and with a toothpick.
These are the cupcake wrappers.
Here are the finished cupcakes – seriously – aren’t these soooooo cute? They’re individual pirate ships!!!!!

1-2-3 Punch Board Layered Bow

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I am making a 1-2-3 Punch Board Layered Bow. I’ve made single bows on this punch board before, but I wanted to make a bigger bow for a gift. Hmmm, how can I do this?!?!?
You can use the 123 Punch Board to make 3 different projects – envelopes (has a score extender for larger envelopes), bows, and boxes. Each projects’ instructions are in different colors. Above you can see that the Bow instructions are white (envelopes are in blue, and boxes are in red).

Just follow the instructions step-by-step . . . Easy Peasy. Notice that for each bow, there are 3 paper lengths – A, B, and C. A is the bow length, B is the bottom notched piece, and C is the single looped piece.

Now, I want to make a layered bow, so I will need multiple A’s in different lengths, and only 1 B and 1 C.
These are the pieces I cut out.
This was a practice bow. Yep, this is what I want it to look like.
Above are the 2 XXL A’s, glued on the left and then crossed on the right.
Here are the 2 XL A’s.
Above on the left are the crossed XXL’s and XL’s on the left and then layered on the right – making sure I staggered the layers.
These are the 2 L pieces.
On the left, you see the XXL and XL layers and the L layer off to the right and then in the right pic you can see the L layer attached.
Above on the left is my layered bow and the B piece that goes on the bottom. The B piece is attached on the right.
Finally, on the left you see the C piece. On the right you see it looped and glued next to the layered bow.
Here’s the finished bow – I spritzed it with Perfect Pearls mist to make it shimmer. This was so easy . . .  I made 20 of them, lol.

SVGCuts Easter Egg Box Card

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making an SVGCuts Easter Egg Box Card from their “Springtime Box Cards” kit.

Above is a screenshot of the pieces in Cricut Design Space. Box cards are my favorite cards to make – they’re easy and yet look really complicated and impressive, lol.
Here are the cutout pieces. I used Close To My Heart cardstock in Lemon, Tangerine, and White Daisy. The patterned papers are from the DCWV ‘The Glitter Stack” and ‘The Linen Closet.” Yeah, yeah, yeah, it looks like a lot of pieces . . . One. Step. At. A. Time.
Not only do SVGCuts kits have step-by-step assembly videos on their website, but the downloads also come with menu pdf’s with labeled pictures of the pieces, explanations when needed, and graphics like the one above. This one shows how to assemble Insert 1.
Here are my Insert 1 pieces and the assembled insert.
This graphic shows the inserts separately.
Inserts 2 and 3 are above – notice the numbers on the tabs identifying them.
This is the box card base – the top pic shows the pieces and the bottom pic shows the panels attached. Easy peasy.
Here is the box card base assembled on the left and the back panel attached on the right.
The front pieces are on the left. The flowers are ridiculously easy – color the centers, put three petals together by inserting a brad through the petal holes and then through the holes on the front piece. Ha! Done!
Here’s the front piece attached to the card base.
Bend the tabs forward and attach Insert 1 – lining up the top of the tabs with the top of the card base.
Attach Insert 2 behind Insert 1.
Finally, add Insert 3 behind Insert 2 – the tabs keep the inserts spaced apart perfectly.
Isn’t the front view awesome? You can see straight through to the back panel!!!!!!!
Here’s the finished card – another beautiful project completed! Happy Easter!!!!!

SVGCuts Easter Basket Card

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I am making an SVGCuts Easter Basket Card from their “Bunny Hop” kit. Wow, this was an incredibly easy card to make!!

Above is a screenshot of the uploaded pieces in Cricut Design Space. The basket pieces are very similar and it was a little confusing keeping them straight. So . . . I made a list of which papers corresponded with which pieces – seems complicated, but it wasn’t – just makin’ a list.
Above are the cutout pieces. I used Close To My Heart cardstock in White Daisy, Lemon, Saffron, and Pear, and some from the DCWV “The Glitter Stack” paper pad.

Do these colors and patterns speak spring or what?????
This is the basket front – it has two layers.
Above is the basket back – also two layers.
This pic shows the eggs attached to the basket back – and the basket front and back glued together. It’s kind of hard to see, but the front and back are attached at the top of the handle – there are score lines so you can fold the card up to write your sentiment inside.
How cute is the little chick embellishing the front. I made that awesome tiny bow with a fork – yep, a fork. Check out this instructional video: https://www.youtube.com/watch/?v=JkVSWk-ULBs.
And . . . Here’s the finished card. How pretty is that?!?!?

Close To My Heart Happy Easter Card

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making a Close To My Heart Happy Easter Card. Above is a screenshot of Cricut Design Space. This is just the card and the sections. The magic in this card involves a stamp set and some embellishments.
Above is the inspiration for this card. I went on Pinterest and searched Close To My Heart easter cards.
Above are the cutout pieces and the embellishments I used. I made two cards at the same time and used CTMH cardstock in White Daisy, Thistle, Pixie, and also some from a Fundamentals paper pack.

The stamp set is S1702 Easter Bunny and was a stamp of the month special.

I got the ribbon from Michaels, the purple ribbon has adhesive on the back, and the pink ribbon is sheer.

I also got the paper string from Michaels on clearance.
O.M.G. How adorable is that floral stamp???

I’m using my Spectrum Noir colored pencils to color the flowers in.
I attached the stamped piece at the top of this layer, and a piece of the patterned paper on the bottom.
I ran a piece of ribbon to cover the space between the pieces of paper. Then I layered paper string over the ribbon and knotted a small piece off to the side.
Next, I attached the finished layer to the card base.
Now for the icing on the cake. I stamped the bunny onto CTMH White Daisy cardstock with Black ink, filled it in with the colored pencils, and finally, I fussy cut them.
Here are two of the finished cards. Eeeeeek!!!! Aren’t they amazing?????? Right here is why I love making cards!!

SVGCuts Bird’s Nest Box Card

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making a SVGCuts Bird’s Nest Box Card from their Springtime Box Cards Kit.

Above is a screenshot of Cricut Design Space. Just giving you a heads up – this card has A LOT of pieces. Don’t be afraid of doing large projects like this. SVGCuts has assembly videos for their projects – Mary demonstrates EVERY step, just follow along. Really . . . it’s that easy! I usually watch the entire assembly video first, and then watch a second time, pausing between steps when I need to.
Above are the cutout pieces. I used Close To My Heart cardstock in White Daisy, Champagne, Desert Sand, Glacier, Lemon, Pear and the Pear patterned paper is from a CTMH Fundamentals pack.
I inked the edges of the eggs with CTMH Glacier ink and the Desert Sand pieces with Desert Sand ink. Isn’t it interesting how inking the paper with coordinating ink makes it stand out???
Above is a pic from the SVGCuts instructions for layering the inserts.
Here are mine.
Above is the box card base – the top pic shows the pieces, and the bottom pic shows the pieces attached. I used Wink of Stella on the yellow trim to make it stand out more – and remember, there is no such thing as too much glitter, lol.
Here’s the front and back of the assembled box. I used the CTMH Stamp of the Month Set S1702 “Easter Bunny” to stamp the “Happy Easter” in Glacier ink.
I used a CTMH ShinHan alcohol marker to embellish the flower petals in the top left pic and I’m going to use green brads from my stash as the flower centers. The bottom left pic shows the greenery piece with the leaves and grass attached to the branch, and the bottom right pic shows the completed section.
Insert 1 is attached. Make sure you fold the card back and forth while the glue is drying to ensure it will lay flat.
Insert 2 is added in this pic. Again make sure you fold the card back and forth while the glue is drying.
And . . . Insert 3 is attached.
Here’s the finished card. It came out so incredibly beautifully!!!! Thank you SVGCuts!

SVGCuts Egg-Shaped Box

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making an SVGCuts Egg-Shaped Box from their “Bunny Hop” Kit.

I love making 3D paper projects – but what do you do with them? They’re hard to store because they’re pretty fragile – they’re made out of paper, duh . . . So . . . I give them away – I still get to make them, but I don’t have to store them. Win, win!!

Above is a screenshot of the file in Cricut Design Space.

A few things about SVGCuts files:

  • They have assembly videos on their site and actually assemble every project in their videos from start to finish
  • REMEMBER to change the scorelines from cut to score and to attach them

Above are the cutout pieces. I used a Kathie Davis paper pad I got a few years ago from Joanns – it speaks spring to me . . .
Above is the lid’s band. On the left you can see the two band pieces glued together, the center shows the completed band, and the pic on the right shows the tabs folded down along the scorelines.
Above is assembly of the top side of the lid. In the top left pic is the piece with holes at the top and bottom (a way to identify the piece) – with glue around the edges. The top right pic shows the top left piece glued to the tabs from the inside.

The bottom left shows glue on the liner, and the bottom right pic has the top piece attached.

Ha! Done!!!!
Above is the inside of the lid with glue on the edges and across the middle.
This pic shows the acetate glued in and has glue on it ready for the liner.
Here is the finished inside of the lid – one of my favorite things about SVGCuts projects is how they pay attention to the finishing touches – like making the inside pretty, too – and making sure the item is sturdy.
Above is the lid band folded on the scorelines.
This is the finished lid – I’ll add embellishments later.
The bottom assembly is just like the lid. Above is a pic of the finished bottom – it is deeper than the lid, so it can hold lots of goodies, lol.
Here’s a shot of the finished box – I made 10 of these and they all came out awesome!!! Again, 3D projects are probably my favorite paper crafting activities! I mean, really, how cute are these????

Planner Paper Bag Pockets

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I am making Planner Paper Bag Pockets. I am always at a loss as to what to do with the extra stickers and ephemera that come in kits – translation:  I usually can’t find them when I want them . . .

I found a possible solution on “The Planner Society #officialgroup” Facebook page. Violet Ballew uploaded a video showing how to make the above pocket pages out of the bag that comes in The Planner Society Kit.
Here we go . . . I want my pocket page to fit in my A5 planner. The left photo shows a page from my planner and the paper bag that came in the March kit.

In the center pic, I clipped the page to the bag – cutting it this way keeps the left and bottom edges of the bag intact, effortlessly creating part of the pockets.

In the right pic, I cut the bag to size.
Next, in the left pic, I cut an “L” shape from the top layer, leaving about 1/3 intact – also leaving an edge on the left will reinforce the page when punched.

I used my ATG in the center pic, putting adhesive on the cutout piece.

In the right pic, I glued the cutout piece to the back of the page – the bottom pocket is done.
Then I chose a different patterned piece of paper, and cut it to the size of the desired pocket in the left pic.

The right pic shows the pocket in place – make sure you only put adhesive on the side and bottom edges – you want to make sure it will open – yep, learned this the hard way . . .
I used my minc to laminate the page – I set it on 5 and ran it through twice. Then I trimmed the extra laminate off around the edges.
Using a craft knife, I carefully slit the laminate along the top edges of the pockets.
Punched the holes on the left edge.
And, here’s my finished Paper Bag Pocket with stickers, stencils, and journal cards in the pockets. It literally took about 15 minutes to make this from start to finish – including heating the minc. Now that’s a quick and easy project!
