Grandchildren’s Valentines Day Cards

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making my Grandchildren’s Valentines Day Cards for 2017. Cards are my passion, so of course I make them for the people I love (my grandchildren and my husband).

I made a “Makeup Bag Box Card” from SVGCuts Hearts Aflame SVG Kit for my granddaughter and two Star Wars storm trooper cards for my grandsons.

Above is a screen shot of the box card in Cricut Design Space – always lots of pieces – as always, do these projects one step at a time, and watch the assembly videos on the SVGCuts website.

Remember to change the scorelines from cut to score and to attach them.
AND remember to change the numbers from cut to write and attach them.
Here are the cut out pieces – I used Close To My Heart cardstock in Pixie, Desert Sand, Ruby, White Daisy, Black, Slate, and some of the Fundamentals patterned paper.
This is the first panel that goes in the front of the box card. On the left are the pieces and on the right they are adhered to the base.
Above is the box card base – the top pic shows the pieces – the bottom pic shows them adhered to the base.
This is the second panel. The left pic shows the pieces and the right shows them attached to the panel. I messed up the glasses . . . yeah, it happens. I put the back pieces on backwards – you should see plain pink paper, not patterned paper. I filled in the lenses with CTMH Liquid Glass to make it look like glass.
Isn’t this so cute???? The mirror is a piece of foil paper from my stash.
Here’s the assembled base with the first insert attached. Keep folding the base back and forth while the glue is drying to make sure the card will fold flat in the envelope.
The left pic shows the second panel ready to go in. The middle pic shows a front/top shot with the second panel attached. And the right pic shows a side view of the card.
Here’s the finished box card. I love SVGCuts card files!!!!!
Above is a screen shot of the Star Wars storm trooper cards I made for my grandsons – both are Star Wars Lego fans. I uploaded a storm trooper pic from Google Images and used the Print and Cut feature in Cricut Design Space.

I cut out the letters on the front pink piece – you’ll be able to see white through the words – the text is a system font called Abadi MT Condensed Extra Bold – Regular. The text on the inside is a Cricut font called All Mixed Up in a writing style.

This is one of the finished cards. I popped up the storm trooper on the front, attached the red layer, and that’s it! Easy peasy!!!!

SVGCuts Winter Sled Lever Card

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! This is a SVGCuts Winter Sled Lever Card from their Winter Gazebo SVG kit. It comes out really awesome!

Making cards is my favorite paper crafting activity and SVGCuts files are the best – every project has an assembly video and the projects always come out great!!!

Above is a screenshot of Cricut Design Space. When using SVGCuts files, you have to make sure you change the scorelines to score (rather than cut) and that you attach them to the pieces.
Here are the cutout pieces. I used Close To My Heart cardstock in Sea Glass, Desert Sand, Chocolate and White Daisy. I also used paper from the Oh Deer! Paper pack (a seasonal pack).
This is a lever card – never made one of these before – so I watched the instructional video (several times). Believe me, it was easier to assemble than it looks.

The left pic shows the card open and the right pic shows it folded flat.
The left pic shows the sled pieces and the right pic shows it assembled – easy peasy.
Here are the skates. I used silver patterned paper from my stash for the runners.
I attached the skates to the sled with some gold and white twine and a brass brad.
Here’s the card unfolded – I used aqua shimmer trim on the edge to add some glitter.

What a fun card!
Here’s the finished card. It’s a beautiful and unique one-of-a-kind card. I absolutely LOVE how it came out!

The Reset Girl February Craft Girl PlayKit

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! This is The Reset Girl February Craft Girl PlayKit. These kits are at the top of my list of favorites because her designs are nostalgic – retro, if you will – florals, 60’s themes, colors, and nature.

Yeah, so, there was a little accident at the mailbox when I got this kit – involving rain, wind and a mud puddle . . . sheesh!!!! Luckily, there was no damage to the contents.

I love her label “Please deliver to this crafty girl.”
Here’s a sticker on the back of the mailer – “Awesomeness Delivered!”
This kit came in a handy dandy acrylic bag I can use for storage – lovin’ this!!
A cute little stamp set by Citrus Twist.
Thirteen journal cards – wow, the one with the books is right up my alley . . .
You get A LOT of stickers in these kits. There are bubbles, numbers, girls, decor, and sentence strips.
Here are some half and quarter boxes – you can use these for anything – list, headers, sketches, sticker layering, the possibilities are endless.
Here’s the entire kit – soft colors of pink, blue, yellow.
The Reset Girl is known for list making and you can download her lists from the Listersgottalist website. I usually type my own because I like to choose my own font and font color, and then I cut them apart on my paper trimmer.
Here’s the first spread. I used the washi from The Planner Society’s January kit, as well as some washi (across the very top and bottom) from my stash. You can see the list prompts, stickers, diecuts, and stamped images.

I colored some of the stamps in with my colored pencils – this is becoming one of my favorite planner techniques. I love the vintage girls in these kits – I just ordered a vintage fashion stamp set from amazon (I’m hooked, lol).
I’m not going to show you every spread, but here is where I put the book journal card, and how about the journal card on the right spread? Retro girl. Yep, I love these!!

February 2017 scribbleprintsco Mystery Ultimate Kit

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! Here’s the February 2017 scribbleprintsco Mystery Ultimate Kit. She puts these giant “SPC Happy Mail!” stickers on the back of the mailers – a hint of what’s inside. . .

Pink, red, and burgundy roses – ooooooo, can’t wait to open it!!!
The kit comes in a clear plastic bag. The sticky note pad on top is a freebie for subscribing to the Mystery Ultimate Kit – you can only get this in the mystery kit.

The owner, Andrea, is a HUGE fan of glitter and you see it throughout her kits. I am loving the deep, rich red this month.
These are the other freebies in this kit – a sheet of glitter headers in the kit’s colors, a sheet of lipstick stickers (oh my goodness!!), and a sheet of decor. The little characters on the right side of the sheet are from oncemorewithlove – ADORABLE!!!!
Oh boy, look at all those lovely shades of red!! Andrea describes these “romantic” colors as burnt burgundy, maroon, dusty pink, and a not too cool brown.

The back left sheet is labels, solid washi, and little things, the back center sheet is decor, icons, numbers, and times, and the back right sheet has half and quarter boxes, flags, and habit trackers.

The front left sheet has headers and washi, and the front right sheet are rose-covered strips.

A sheet of six full boxes, and then a sheet of tall boxes of the same girl with different hair and skin colors – how awesome are those?!?!?
Above are the ombre heart checklists (I cut these apart and use them as headers) and the functional sheet.
And here’s the entire kit.
I combined this kit with the January #panduhbox because the colors went perfectly together. Above is the full month spread – pretty, pretty, pretty!

I like pretty . . . and I LOVE working in a pretty space.

I put the tall box on the right side of the girl and the rose strips at the top left and bottom right. I cut the “February” out with my Cricut Explore from the Days and Dates cartridge.
And . . . here’s a week spread for February. I made my own date covers using the Print and Cut feature in Cricut Design Space. I watched an instructional video from Moe Howard on how to create date covers for ECLP, Happy Planner, or other planners – they’re a little too wide . . .

January 2017 #panduhbox Bloom Subscription

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! Here’s the January 2017 #panduhbox “Bloom” subscription- you’re gonna love it!

Emma uses customized boxes that say “do what you love” on one end and “#panduhbox” on the other. Oh, and they come in a gold foil bag . . . you definitely know what it is when you get it, lol.
This is a view of the inside of the box – Wow . . . Just Wow . . . Isn’t that paper beautiful?
She always customizes something in the box for the recipient – see the “j” on the circle tied with the twine? Yep, that’s me . . .
“There are far better things ahead than any we leave behind.”
You can’t find washi like this just anywhere . . . Seriously beautiful . . .
If you’ve read many of my blogs, you know I’m not a fan of roller stamps . . . HOWEVER . . . this roller stamp is different . . . it has a floral frame around it.

How cool is that? I’ve never seen anything like it before. And . . .

I. Love. It.

Here’s a sample. No kidding . . . that is awesome!!!
Here’s a cute notepad that looks like a legal pad – lined notepads are my favorite.

I love the #panduhbox pens because they’re thin, have a super fine point, are adorable, and have a cap rather than a clip. This one does NOT disappoint.

Check out the leaf on the side of the cap – I mean, really . . .
Here’s a set of puffy floral stickers by Hazelwood.
“The best is yet to come.” Beautiful, beautiful stickers by simplywatercolorco and #panduhbox.
Finally, a lined burlap bag with “love” on the front. I can always use another bag – ‘cause, you know,  I have LOTS of stuff, lol.
Here’s a pic of the entire kit – this is one of my favorite #panduhbox’s – I love the florals – and the colors are just beautiful!!!!!
Here’s the month spread. I combined the #panduhbox with this month’s scribbleprintsco kit because the colors and the florals go together perfectly. Don’t you agree?!?!?

I used my awesome Cricut Explore to cutout the “February” from the Days and Dates cartridge.
Here’s a closeup of the “j” – I put as much of the kits into my spreads as possible – they’re too awesome not to.
I use this planner to track my social media numbers, what blogs viewers are looking at, and how they are getting to my blogs.

I made the date covers – trying something new – hopefully I’ll get better at this – slightly too wide.
Remember the first view of the #panduhbox? I used UnDo to get the “Bloom” sticker off the box and put it here. How awesome is that? Again, I try to use as much of the kit, including the decor, as I can.

I tried to make a pompom from the twine that tied the kit together . . . yeah . . . so . . . twine has to have something fluffy added to make a pompom. Just sayin’.

January 2017 scarlet lime Planner Society Kit

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! Look at how beautiful the January 2017 scarlet lime Planner Society kit is!! This month’s themes are fresh, birds, songs, and girls.

Check out the beautiful paper bag in the pic above – The Planner Society designs their own patterns and they are repeated throughout the kits – on the paper, sticky notes, pens, bags.

Siiiiigggggghhhhhh . . .
You get six sheets of paper in each kit – this months’ are shown above – warm yellow plaid and floral, black and white textured squares, green with swans and hearts, light blue wood pattern with black hearts, and distressed pink and yellow vintage florals.
Here’s a faux leather embellishment binder – how cute is this? The small sticker sheets fit in these pages, as do small stamp sets, and paper clips.
This is a vial of ephemera you can use to make shaker pockets or pages or whatever. The vial makes for very convenient storage.

Inside are little swans, hearts, sequins, and flower shapes.
The Planner Society has the BEST washi – that of course, matches other elements in the kit. This month is a roll of yellow plaid and a roll of floral.
Check out this months’ pen – it has a giant jewel on the end and the barrel is white iridescent with tiny black polka dots!! Also, the sticky notepad has the girl on it with a bow in her hair and boots – love, love, love it!!
Here’s the girl in an acrylic stamp – isn’t she adorable????
There are seven beautiful journal cards – girls, swans, florals, vintage . . .
This is a really, really cute paperclip – it’s a swan with a black star, pink crown, and a tulle tutu. Aaaaaaggggghhhh!!! Apparently there may be a problem with the adhesive – sheesh, just glue it if it comes apart . . . Okay??????
There are twelve tabs with four sheets of labels.
Lots of beautiful die cuts.
Puffy stickers.
Six mini sticker sheets – girls, flowers, bows, birds, swans, hearts, words . . .
Here’s a pic of the whole kit . . . Sooooo pretty!! You get more than your money’s worth from the Planner Society.
I use this planner to plan my blog schedule. On this spread, I use sticky notes to keep track of and arrange the blogs I want to do for the month.
Here I used paper from the kit to cover Monday and Tuesday (part of January), and added washi, stickers, journal cards, and tabs, also from the kit.

I did something really fun in this kit – I stamped the girl on the far right and used my Spectrum Noir colored pencils to color her in – it far exceeded my expectations, lol. The shaker pouch, however, did not . . . I redid it . . .
See the swan clip at the top left?? Mmmmmhmmmmm . . .
Yeah, so, I was not happy at all with how my first shaker pouch version came out – it was WAY too wide.

So, of course, I redid it. I cut it down, used my We R Memory Keepers fuse tool, restuffed it with the ephemera, and it came out MUCH better!!

February 2017 Cocoa Daisy Kit

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! Here is the February 2017 Cocoa Daisy Dori Standard kit.

I really love this tissue paper with the big black polka dots.

They always include the business card with the pin on the United States where they are located – Nice!! Gotta love the midwest – okay, so . . . yeah, I’ve lived my entire life in this area of the country. I like to see the seasons change – the snow and cold weather make you appreciate the other seasons more, imho.
The kit is inside a white muslin bag that says “Enjoy Every Day.” I added extra washi to my kit, not knowing that it’s the same washi as comes in the kit?!?

Yeah, so I canceled it – I don’t need two rolls of the same washi. I love washi, but really . . .
“a little roll of happy”was designed by arleigh and is very February-ish. You know, with the dark pink hearts on a light pink background . . .

You get four sheets of two-sided paper.

Hey, look, there’s Simon!! I love Simon . . . He’s my favorite nerd.
Simon appears again on a 3×5 notepad by arleigh – see the sunburst on the background? Cool, huh?

He also makes an appearance on the sticky notes by arleigh – he’s so happy . . .
OMG, here’s Simon on a felt clip by PlanningZen.
And more Simon in an acrylic stamp set called “Simon Approved” – hey, there seems to be a female in there.

Meet Betty, AND . . . according to Cocoa Daisy, she’s NOT Simon’s girlfriend.
This is the February Dori – I use it in my Travelers Notebook.

It contains:
• Monthly Calendar (see above)
• 3 lined journaling pages
• 11 blank (with design) pages
• 10 graph paper pages with 3 sections
• 10 unlined pages with 3 sections
• Last page with design

Here are the stickers:
A 5×7 planner sticker sheet by arleigh
A date sticker sheet by arleigh

Tab label stickers by Just Jaimee
I love that they hide things in semi-see-through bags.

There are 6 tab die cuts by Just Jaimee, and various theme-related die cuts, also by Just Jaimee.
And . . . here’s a pic of the entire kits’ contents.
Here’s a look at the monthly spread – this is my everyday planner. Lots and Lots of Simon!!!!! Oh, and peeks of Betty, too.
I fussy-cut a row of the Simon’s from a sheet of the paper and put them along the bottom of the right page – how cool does that look?
I added a pic of this page too, to show you how I used the stamp set and then filled the images in with my Spectrum Noir colored pencils. I think I’ll continue doing this – nice way to add my own colors.

SVGCuts Colorful Corn Card

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making a SVGCuts Colorful Corn Card using their Enchanted Autumn kit.

I LOVE SVGCuts files – the completed projects always come out great!!!

Above is a screenshot of the pieces in Cricut Design Space. Remember to attach the scorelines to the pieces. Cricut Design Space is where you can add text to personalize your project.
Here are the cutout pieces. The paper with patterns came from my stash, the rest is Close To My Heart cardstock in Champagne, Desert Sand, and Chocolate.
Above is the card base assembly process.
The corn has a one-piece base, and the top layers sit at angles on top of the base.
I embellished the topmost corn layer with some bling to make it look like Indian corn. Nice, huh?
Added yarn, ribbon and twine around the top of the corn.

This file came with an envelope sized perfectly for the card. I used CTMH Desert Sand cardstock and Scotch tacky glue to assemble the envelope – ATG adhesive doesn’t hold well enough to send an envelope through the mail.

Here’s the finished card. Isn’t it beautiful? I love how the bling makes it look like corn.

Baptism Card

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making a baptism card for my friend’s baby.

Above is a screenshot of Cricut Design Space where I designed the card. I layout and color the pieces the way I want them on the card.

Here’ss the inspiration for my card from stampincollection.com – it’s funny how changing the color scheme changes how the card looks, isn’t it?
These are the cutout pieces. I used Close To My Heart cardstock in White Daisy, Blossom, and from the Happy Times, and Fundamentals paper sets.

I got the verse from the Internet and the heart is from the Cricut Monogram Motifs cartridge.
I started by adding two layers to the front of the card base.
Then I inked the edges of several of the pieces with CTMH Blossom ink.

I used my Xyron to add adhesive to the cross pieces – the Xyron gets adhesive over the entire surface of the pieces, making it MUCH easier to attach small pieces.
This is the front with the flags and horizontal band attached.
Next I added the flower base and the circles.
Then I added the assembled cross to the circle layers.
I used these flowers on some wedding cards – they came out so well, I used the same ones for this card.
Here they are attached. Then I used the Wink of Stella brush and added some shimmer to the cross pieces.
This is the finished card – I’m very, very happy with how it came out!! I used the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board to make the envelope.

Dragon Birthday Card

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making a Dragon Birthday Card for my granddaughter’s 9th birthday.

Above is a screenshot of Cricut Design Space. I uploaded a dragon mask to print and cut. I duplicated it and changed it to cut, rather than print and cut, which makes it turn black. I duplicated that piece, flipped it over and welded it to the other black piece – above on the left. Then I duplicated the welded section, made it white – this is the interior of the card – and added text.

This is the print and cut piece with the registration marks on the corners.
Here are the cut out pieces. I used Close To My Heart cardstock in White Daisy and Black.
I used the Close To My Heart Shin Han markers to color the front section.
To make the eyes black, I adhered the front piece to the black section.
Finally, I got out my stickles and Wink of Stella brush and glittered it up.

Doesn’t it look amazing???
This card is a non-standard size so I used the We R Memory Keepers app on my phone to create a customized envelope. You enter the card width and height, tap “generate” and it tells you what size to cut your paper and what punch guide measurement (ugh, are they EVER going to fix that misspelling????) to use on the envelope punch board. Voila, an envelope that is just the right size for your non-standard card.
