Paper Panduh October 2016 Warm and Cozy Kit

2016-10-28-21-40-35Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! Here’s the Paper Panduh October 2016 Warm and Cozy Kit, another awesome, awesome kit by Emma.

“do what you love” is on one end of the box and “#panduhbox” is on the other end.
2016-10-28-21-41-18Above left is the inside of the box – wrapped in green plaid tissue paper sealed with a floral die cut, and tied with thick light brown and cream yarn. On the right is what you see after unwrapping the tissue paper – an oblong box with a “Home Sweet Home” die cut lying on a bed of brown kraft crinkle cut paper.
2016-10-28-21-41-43In the top pic, you can see the box is tied with a piece of brown twine. Inside are the two pens in the bottom pic – a blue one with a cap shaped like a house – how cute is that??? – and a pen with a knit red and pink sweater pattern – again, how cute is that? Who wouldn’t love to write with either of them? They both have a fine point and are black ink. I love them . . .
2016-10-28-21-42-16I love tea – been a tea drinker for 30+ years. Well, this kit included a Twinings English Breakfast teabag inside a cellophane bag closed with a “stay warm” sticker and a leaf stapled at the top. I really appreciate the little extras #panduhbox kits provide – she could’ve just put the teabag in the box – BUT she didn’t . . . Love, love this!!
2016-10-28-21-42-57Here’s a note from Emma, love it, and a code to her shop for 20% off, that’s good until November 15, if you’re interested. Included is a pad of paper – I’m going to use it on my sidebars, an awesome gold coffee cup pin, and two rolls of washi – yep, I still love washi, and . . .  isn’t it so pretty?!?!? They go together sooooo well!!!
2016-10-28-21-43-30On the left are seven sheets of stickers (there are two slightly different sheets of the upper left set) from Paper Panduh and Caress Press. How ‘bout that girl with the shades, huh? On the right are some die cuts and a journaling card for “Rainy Day Notes.”

2016-10-28-21-44-39Here’s a shot of the entire kit – there is so much stuff in it!!!

It’s all so . . . Warm . . . And . . . Cozy . . . Don’tcha think????
2016-10-29-15-51-39Here’s my month-on-two-pages spread. I used pieces from the paper pad across the top and the bottom, stickers, diecuts, quote boxes, numbers, days of the week, the pens, and the teabag. It is just beautiful!!!
2016-10-29-15-52-17One last thing, I used my We R Memory Keepers Pom Pom Maker, the twine and yarn from this kit, and a piece of ribbon from last month’s kit to make a planner pom pom. Now tell me that didn’t come out incredibly awesome!!!! I LOVE Paper Panduh kits!

Cricut Make It Now Project Anniversary Box Card

screen-shot-2016-10-17-at-11-03-10-am-copyHi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making a Cricut Make It Now Project Anniversary Box Card. I’ve made A LOT of box cards from SVGCuts, and I thought I’d try one of the Cricut box cards.

Above is a screen shot of the Cricut instructions – unfortunately, they are no where near as detailed as SVGCuts – too much guesswork in assembly. However, there is a link to the cartridge handbook that shows pictures. This project includes the card and an envelope.
screen-shot-2016-10-17-at-12-10-42-pm-copyThis is a screen shot of Cricut Design Space that shows the pieces. This is a great place to play with your color combinations . . .
2016-10-17-22-22-15Above are the cutout pieces. I used Close To My Heart cardstock in Sea Glass, Chocolate, Raspberry, Whisper, White Daisy, Fundamentals Rustic Home and Fundamentals Adventure.
screen-shot-2016-10-17-at-2-51-46-pm-copyThese are the instructions from the “All Occasions Box Cards” cartridge handbook. Better than no instructions, but I would like photos rather than drawings . . .
2016-10-17-22-23-22The base is all one piece (versus multiple pieces) in Whisper, folded on the scorelines, and has pink panels.
2016-10-17-22-24-00This is the other side of the base with the other panels attached.
2016-10-17-22-25-00Here is the assembled base with the flaps folded down.
2016-10-17-22-25-49I used the CTMH Pathfinding stamp set and Chocolate ink to stamp some of the pieces with a woodgrain pattern. The inserts are all one piece, rather than multiple pieces like SVGCuts box cards.
2016-10-17-22-26-41Here’s a side view with the insert attached – I think the flaps are too long.
2016-10-17-22-27-30An angled view.
2016-10-17-22-28-19One of the coolest things about box cards is that they lay flat and you can put them in an envelope for mailing.

**Reminder – they take extra postage**
2016-10-17-22-29-06Here’s the finished card and envelope. In my opinion, SVGCuts box cards are better – just sayin’. This is still a beautiful card!!!

SVGCuts Spooky Tree Candelabra

screen-shot-2016-10-18-at-5-26-47-pm-copyHi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! More Halloween decor, lol!!! I’m making an SVGCuts Spooky Tree Candelabra from their “Spooky Soiree” kit.

Above is a screen shot of Cricut Design Space – again, it looks like a lot of pieces, but if you watch Mary’s assembly video, it’s a piece of cake!!!!!!
2016-10-18-22-56-34Here are the cutout pieces. I used Close To My Heart black cardstock and Nevermore cardstock from last year. There are six black trees and six patterned trees, three black stars and six black arrows.
2016-10-18-22-57-13Following the instructions, you glue the black pieces together – just fold along the scorelines and glue the pieces back to back. Checkout the round areas – you put battery-operated tealights on them. Ha!
2016-10-18-22-58-16Next, you glue the patterned panels over the black pieces.
2016-10-18-22-59-12For the base, I took the three star shapes (left pic), stacked them and glued them together (middle pic), then glued the tabs from the black tree sections onto the star points (right pic).
2016-10-18-22-59-44I misted the arrow pieces with heidi swapp’s Tinsel color shine (left pic). Then I glued them between the tree sections to cover the tabs (right pic).
2016-10-18-23-00-54Here’s the finished Candelabra. Really . . . it looks incredibly cool!!!!!! I. LOVE. SVGCUTS. They always come out great, there are assembly videos for every project, and they are easy, easy, easy!!

2016-10-23-21-14-14“Enjoy Every Day”

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! Here’s my November 2016 Cocoa Daisy Day Planner Kit!!! The kit comes wrapped in black and white polka-dotted tissue paper and a white muslin bag. This month’s kit has a woodland theme with animals, feathers, trees, in greens, blues and oranges.
2016-10-23-21-14-51A fairly new addition to the Cocoa Daily Planner Kit are 4 6×8 papers called Pumpkin Spice/Into the Forest & Harley/Ingrained. These are great for making dashboards and dividers.
2016-10-23-21-17-04In the above pic are:
Just Jaimee TGIF stamp set – these stamps have incredible detail
3×5 notepad – now, that’s a fox with some attitude
Coffee cup sticky notes – these are soooooo cool!!
Fox pen – it has a really fine tip – my favorite
2016-10-23-21-17-35Cocoa Daisy exclusive Meadow washi tape – light blue, bright green in a geometric design

2016-10-23-21-18-205×7 planner sticker sheet – these are standard in each kit
Date sticker sheet
Tab label stickers
2016-10-23-21-19-046 Tab die cuts – one of them has coffee cups on it – so cool!!
Forest friends die cuts
Pretty Little Studio Flair clip – that says “I Love Fall”
2016-10-23-21-19-301 double-sided month tab – the woodland animals have a hand-drawn look and are so darned cute!!
2016-10-23-21-20-02Month-on-two-pages – on the backs are a place to make a month list and the other has monthly boxes for setting goals or anything you want to track monthly.
2016-10-23-21-20-535 double-sided week in review pages – doesn’t everyone “need another day between Saturday and Sunday”?
2016-10-23-21-21-265 sets double-sided weekly overview pages (2 per set) – the back side has space for making lists, journaling and making notes.
2016-10-23-21-22-2632 double-sided daily to-do pages. One of the hydration glasses is a coffee cup – speaking my language!!

“First I drink the coffee. Then I do the things.” Words to live by . . .
2016-10-23-21-23-08Here’s a shot of the entire kit. The light blue seems an odd choice, doesn’t it, but it works . . .
2016-10-23-21-23-58Above is the month-on-two pages spread in action – got a lot going on in November . . .
2016-10-23-21-26-02And . . . these are the weekly spreads for the month. Adorable woodland animals, washi, stamps, and lovin’ that fox pen.

Halloween Minibooks

2016-10-18-22-39-56Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I made some Halloween Minibooks using my We R Memory Keepers “the Cinch.” I love making things for other people – putting my personal touch on them.

Above is a pic of one of the books – I made 9 of them – for my 3 grandchildren, and 6 for my friend’s grandchildren. They’re an easy and quick gift for children.
2016-10-18-22-40-33Book Prep:
First, I cut 8 1/2” x 11” chipboard into 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” pieces, stamped the inside with Halloween stamps, and inked the edges with Close To My Heart Pansy ink.
Second, I cut 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” pieces of CTMH Jeepers Creepers cardstock and glued them onto the chipboard.
Finally, I cut cream cardstock I had on hand into 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” pieces – each book has 12 blank pages.
2016-10-18-22-41-05These are the stamp sets I used: Peachy Keen “Monster Mash Face Assortment,” a Studio Calico monster set, CTMH “Little Monsters,” and CTMH “Purr-fect Halloween” – September’s Stamp of the Month.
2016-10-18-22-42-09Above is the We R Memory Keepers “the Cinch.” One huge thing that WRMK does right is put the instructions ON their tools – you don’t have to worry about losing them.

First, measure the edge you want the holes punched in – mine is 5 1/2”. Second, pull the peg indicated in the instructions – 5 1/2” is between 6 and 5 (right pic), so I’m pulling Peg 11 (see how the peg is pulled out in the left pic).
2016-10-18-22-42-42For edges less than 6” (which mine is), keep the guide all the way to the right and line the bottom edge along it and push in until it stops (left pic). The center pic shows the holes punched – notice there are unpunched spaces at the top and the bottom – that’s why I pulled Peg 11 out. The right pic shows all the books’ sections punched.
2016-10-18-22-43-16Next is assembly. Counting the punched holes, I needed 10 wire binding loops – on the side of “the Cinch” are hooks to hold the binding (top left pic). The order of the pieces for binding is IMPORTANT!! First are the inside pages (top right), next is the front cover (bottom left), and finally is the back cover, inside up (bottom right).

The back cover goes on last with the inside up – that way the ends of the binding wire are on the INSIDE of the book rather than the outside where they get caught on things.
2016-10-18-22-43-45Let’s crimp the binding wire, shall we?

Binding wires come in various sizes – mine is 5/8” – set the dial on the back of “the Cinch” (top left). Line the binding wire up, on the back of the tool, with the open side toward the tool and hold it in place (top right). Push the handle down slowly and it will crimp the binding wire (bottom left). The binding wire should be closed – sometimes I push them closer together with my fingers (bottom right).

2016-10-18-22-44-35The final step is bending the binding wire ends under the first loop. This can be a little tricky – above is for this book – not really liking how the paint peeled!! What’s up with that? Anyway, this is what you want them to look like so they don’t get caught on stuff!!!!
2016-10-18-22-45-17Here’s a shot of the inside back cover – all the loops of the wire binding are on the INSIDE of the book.
2016-10-18-22-46-04
Here are two of the completed books – these have silver binding wires – maybe a better choice than the black – no peeling paint . . .

Halloween Luminaries

screen-shot-2016-10-17-at-10-56-52-pm-copyHi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making Halloween Luminaries for my grandchildren. Paper crafting is one of my passions and holidays are perfect opportunities for making new projects.

Above is a screenshot of the luminaries I’m making – they are from the Cricut “Monster Bash” cartridge – a spider, spiderweb, haunted house, and a ghost.

2016-10-17-22-10-28Here are the cutout pieces for one luminary – yep, only two pieces – a piece of cake. I used Close To My Heart cardstock in Black, Whisper, Slate, Black and White Daisy. I also used some orange Tim Holtz cardstock.
2016-10-17-22-11-10First, fold along the scorelines.
2016-10-17-22-11-57Glue the panel over the opening in the luminary, glue the tab on the side, and finally, glue the bottom flaps. It literally took about five minutes to assemble one luminary – I made 8 – three for my grandchildren, three for my neighbor’s grandchildren, and two for our friends’ grandchildren.
2016-10-18-20-51-04-1Here are four of the completed luminaries – they are 3 1/2” w x 5 1/4” h x 1 1/4” d.

2016-10-17-22-13-18I put a battery-operated tealight candle inside and voila! An adorable kid-friendly luminary.

The Reset Girl So Cozy Crafty Girl Play Kit

2016-10-11-20-46-38Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! Here’s The Reset Girl So Cozy Crafty Girl Play Kit. This kit encourages the changes that fall brings – fall leaves, decor, and crafting projects. It’s my favorite time of year and my activities reflect it – from the projects I choose to the food I eat.

Above is the inside of the kit – pink crinkled paper with some yellow and gray mixed in – and a sweet note from The Reset Girl. I love this kit’s vintage and feminine themes – “So Cozy.”

2016-10-11-20-47-16The kit I chose included TRG’s signature glue stick – honestly, it’s a glue stick, folks – not really a fan because it doesn’t always stick. I want an adhesive that stays – like my ATG permanent adhesive . . . just sayin’ . . .

There’s a 2″x3″ TRG Exclusive “So Cozy” clear stamp set – I LOVE LOVE LOVE the coffee cup!!!!

How ‘bout that roll of orange and yellow plaid washi? It’s the same colors as candy corn – and I DO love candy corn!
2016-10-11-20-47-47You get three sheets of die cuts – 63 pieces – lots of knits, leaves, browns, yellows, oranges, pink (crazy, but it works), and mint green . . .
2016-10-11-20-48-23Above left are boxes (half size and quarter size) bordered with various colored knits – they are “So cozy!”
There are also two Reset Girl Edition Carpe Diem Word Strip Sticker Sheets – they have a pink grid background and pink splashes here and there – I really like these because they’re simple and yet different!
2016-10-11-20-48-56Finally, there are four Exclusive TRG Sticker Sheets – top left are large and small fall themed bubbles – top right are large and small knitted bubbles (yes, knit stickers, lol, I.Love.Them.) – bottom left are date labels – bottom right are small fall themed bubbles.
2016-10-11-20-49-48I printed my own prompts this month. Hey, I’m on a budget and why pay extra if I can print them myself? I used Close To My Heart Saffron cardstock, went to the Listers Gotta List website, downloaded the prompts, and printed them. Now I can cut them apart, add stickers, and make them look the way I want.

2016-10-13-13-54-59Above is a weeks’ spread with date stickers, prompts, die cuts, bubble stickers, and the Monthly Challenge List (on the right – I printed it, mounted it on Saffron cardstock, hole-punched it, and put it in my planner). I love a pretty workspace, don’t you????

SVGCuts Pumpkin Patch Box Card

screen-shot-2016-10-12-at-2-08-11-pm-copyHi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making an SVGCuts Pumpkin Patch Box Card for my sister-in-law’s birthday. Box cards are my favorite type of cards to make – they’re easy, you can customize them if you want, and they are especially impressive to a non-cardmaker.

Above is a screenshot of the uploaded svgfiles from SVGCutsCricut Design Space makes it super easy to upload svg files.

I LOVE SVGCUTS – their files always work (at least so far), they’re easy to assemble, and they have assembly videos for every one of their files (at least every file I’ve ever used). I watch the assembly video from beginning to end BEFORE I start putting the project together and then watch it a second time while I’m assembling.

***REMEMBER to attach the numbers and the scorelines in Design Space – otherwise they show up on another mat***

2016-10-13-13-55-48Here are the cutout pieces. Using my Awesome Cricut Explore, I can customize my cards and I can write “Happy Birthday Jenny!” in any font I want and use any color ink I want – how cool is that?

I used Close To My Heart cardstock in Olive, Chocolate, Autumn Terracotta (retired), Colonial White, and Fundamentals Rustic Home.
2016-10-13-13-57-33I misted some of the pieces – heidi swapp Citron on the left and jack-o-lantern (I got this from Studio Calico a long time ago) and heidi swapp Gold on the right.
2016-10-13-13-58-10I used Olive ink and a dauber on the edges of the pieces in the left pic and Chocolate ink on the edges of the pieces in the right pic.
2016-10-13-13-58-52Hmmmm, I forgot to take a pic of the outside box assembly – sorry . . .

Anyway, above you see Insert 1 assembled in the left pic and then adhered to the front of the box on the right.
2016-10-13-13-59-28Above is Insert 2 assembled on the left – the tabs on either side are bent forward (this provides spacing behind Insert 1) and then added to the the box on the right – lookin’ good!!
2016-10-13-13-59-59The assembled Insert 3 is on the left – these tabs are folded back and provides spacing from the back of the box – and then added to the box on the right.
2016-10-13-14-00-28The pic on the left is a side view – the tabs keep the Inserts perfectly spaced. The pic on the right shows the card folded flat so it fits into the envelope.

Box cards are not standard in size – so, a customized card is needed. This kit came with included envelopes – which you can see in the right pic.

These cards require extra postage!!!!!
2016-10-13-14-01-10Here’s the finished card. Isn’t it beautiful?!?!? I love the colors, the papers, the embellishments, and the 3D format – it folds flat so it fits in an envelope and unfolds to stand up. Love these cards!!!!

We R Memory Keepers Pom Pom Makers

2016-10-11-20-39-29Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m reviewing the We R Memory Keepers Pom Pom Makers. Because . . . I wanted to make pom poms.

In the past, I used a rectangular piece of cardboard, wrapped several layers of yarn around it, threaded a loose piece of yard through it, tied it, cut the loops, and fluffed it. The cardboard was free and it’s an easy way to make pom poms – but they weren’t always a uniform size or fluffiness.

Is this tool worth the $7.99 (incredibly cheap, especially if you use a 40% off coupon)?

Is it easier to use than a piece of cardboard?

What’s the uniformity of the pom poms?

Let’s see . . .
2016-10-11-20-40-08You get three makers for small, medium, and large pom poms.
2016-10-11-20-40-36First, you open the halves – left pic. Hold the yarn and start wrapping around both arms on one half – right pic.
2016-10-11-20-41-45Wrap the yarn until there are several layers – the more yarn you wrap, the thicker the pom pom.
2016-10-11-20-42-15Close the first half and clip the yarn – left pic. Repeat on the other half – right pic.
2016-10-11-20-43-01Cut the yarn in between the arms of the Pom Pom Maker (see my Paper Panduh scissors????).
2016-10-11-20-43-38Wrap a piece of yarn around the arms of the Maker – left pic – and tie it – right pic.
2016-10-11-20-44-13Open the arms – left pic is a top view – right pic is a side view.
2016-10-11-20-44-44Pull the Maker apart and take the pom pom out – left pic. Trim any long pieces and fluff the pom pom – right pic.
2016-10-11-20-45-18Above are the three different sizes – small at 1 1/2”, medium at 2”, and large at 3”.

Price – I paid $4.80 because I used a 40% off coupon – definitely reasonable!

Ease of Use – one of those tools where the more you use it, the easier it is – pretty much just as easy as a piece of cardboard, though.

Uniformity – the pom poms were all the same size – I just had to trim off some longer renegade pieces – no biggie.

Consensus: The price was right, it was easy to use, and I made 16 small pom poms that were all the same size.

October 2016 Scribbles Monthly Mystery Collection

2016-10-04-19-29-50Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! Here’s the October 2016 Scribbles Monthly Mystery Collection – it’s full of warm oranges, yellows, and browns – leaves, lattes, and stars. Yes . . . lots of stars . . . and they are awesome!!!

I use this kit in my Social Media Planner – I don’t use all the planner stickers here, but I do use them in my other planners.
2016-10-04-19-30-14Above are the sticker sheets. In the top left are the checklists – I use these as headers – and event stickers – I don’t use these in this planner.

The top right pic has the full boxes and the washi – I use all these stickers in this planner.

The bottom left pic is of the habit trackers, flags, quarter and half boxes, weekday covers, icons, and to do stickers. I only use the weekday covers in this planner.

The bottom right pic is of the checklists, time bubbles, to do lists (I don’t use these), weekend, date numbers, and various theme related stickers (I do use these).
2016-10-04-19-30-53These are the freebies this month (every kit so far had a pen or marker in it) – a sheet of metallic stars, a sampler, and a BEAUTIFUL pad of sticky notes with leaves in the background and a latte on the side. I. LOVE. THESE. STICKY. NOTES.
2016-10-04-19-31-32Here’s a shot of the entire kit – mmmm mmmmm mmmmm!!!!
2016-10-08-13-07-04Here’s the first weeks’ spread using this kit. I used washi from my stash along the bottom and the side – bringing in a little Halloween – I got the potion bottle washi from Michaels. Across the top are the heart checklists cut apart and labeled with the date and “Blog Views.” I used the washi to label the days’ blog topic on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

And . . . Stars . . . Stars . . . Stars . . . Love them!!!
