SVGCuts Love Always “Wedding Cake” Card

Screen Shot 2016-08-25 at 8.45.07 PM copyHi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making an SVGCuts Love Always “Wedding Cake” card for my son and my new daughter-in-law.

Above is a screen shot from Cricut Design Space of the pieces. Remember to attach the score lines and numbers to the pieces in Design Space, otherwise they show up on another mat and don’t score or write where you want them to.
2016-08-21 19.34.29Above are the cutout pieces. I made two versions – a blue one and a gold foil one. In the above version, I used Close To My Heart cardstock in Sea Glass, Crystal Blue, White Daisy, and Fundamentals Whimsy. I used the CTMH Confetti embossing folder on the wedding cake.

2016-08-21 19.35.24I used my eBosser to emboss the wedding cake. I’ve used the Cuddlebug in the past, but sometimes the paper tears while embossing. The eBosser (if you can afford one, it’s a little pricey) doesn’t tear the paper and the embossing is perfect!!!

2016-08-21 19.36.04I used something new to add some shimmer and sparkle to some of the pieces – Sheer Shimmer Spritz. I thought it looked the same as the Perfect Pearls mist and it costs pretty much the same.

2016-08-21 19.36.51Above is an assembled flower – CTMH Crystal Blue on the bottom, Fundamentals Whimsy in the middle, and Sea Glass (a new color) on the top. I used some sparkle gems for the centers.

2016-08-21 19.37.41Here is the assembled top layer of the card – very straightforward assembly.

2016-08-21 19.38.17Here’s the finished card. I popped up the cake and the banner to give them dimension, and put some Diamond Stickles around the background hearts and on the ends of the banner – I do love me some sparkle!!!!

2016-08-21 19.38.56Above is the second version I made. I used CTMH Colonial White for the base, and Fundamentals Uptown for the tablecloth and the gold foil flowers, with pearls in the center. I might like this version better . . .

August 2016 Paper Panduh Box

2016-08-20 16.04.42Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! My August 2016 Paper Panduh box is here and it is awesome!!!!

Every month the kit is personalized in some way – this month has the above sticker on the side with my name across it – isn’t this adorable?!?!
2016-08-20 16.05.16This is what you see inside the box – cute fox stickers on the lid, turquoise crinkled filler paper, some happy faces, and I see some washi!!!!!

2016-08-20 16.06.13There is always a note to subscribers inside the box, describing the contents, and provides a coupon (this one is for 15% off) to shop on her website – hmmm, I may need a few things . . .

2016-08-20 16.06.30Isn’t he adorable? It’s a fox gift box made out of paper and it holds a bunny pencil sharpener. Papercrafting is my favorite hobby and this came out too cute – I can make these!!!!
2016-08-20 16.07.45On the left is a vinyl fox pencil pouch – I like how deep it is – and a roll of cat washi tape – look at all those happy kitties, lol.

On the right is a Dot Grid Notebook from Ashley Shelly – I have her Budget planner and Peace Journal (love both of them) – and a brown bear pen – I mean, really . . .  how adorable is this pen????
2016-08-20 16.08.16This kit has lots of stickers – 1 sheet from sincerelykawaii, Sweet Rmoosh panda sticker flakes, Mind Wave animal stickers (my favorite are the ones reading books), and Moco Moco llama stickers.

2016-08-20 16.08.50Here’s everything that came in the kit – a picture of cuteness!!!

Hmmm . . . don’t get me wrong, this kit IS adorable, but if you’ve read my blogs, you know I prefer vintage and florals . . .

2016-08-25 21.35.38I use the Paper Panduh subscription kit in my lavender/gold Kikki K blog planner – which has the Plum Paper inserts (uncoiled). Above is the first page of the month – I write my 3 goals for the month, list the birthdays and events, and remind myself of the things I want to remember to do.

2016-08-25 21.36.17Here is the month-on-two-pages. This is where I plan what blogs I will post on which days – I am trying to be more consistent when I post specific blogs – planners on Mondays, product reviews and other on Wednesdays, and cards on Fridays.

2016-08-25 21.36.53Here’s the first week of the month. I use these pages to keep track of what I need to do when for my blog posts. Always trying to be organized . . .

Tieks Ballet Flats

2016-08-20 15.40.27Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I got some new shoes – Tieks Ballet Flats!! I know, I know, I normally blog about my crafting adventures, but I got these awesome shoes and I want to share my experience with you!!!!

2016-08-20 15.41.06As I have said before (many, many times, lol!), the user experience is just as important to me as the product I am purchasing. Above is the Tiffany blue box with a bee-you-tee-ful floral headband – I am actually going to use it as a planner band (of course!!!!).

Seriously . . . I had to take a moment and just look at this . . .
2016-08-18 09.44.28Inside was this card – a card that any self-respecting cardmaker/planner girl would love – isn’t it so pretty???????

2016-08-18 09.44.49Icing on the cake??? A personalized card written to me!!!!!!!

Aaaaaaaaaggggggghhhhhh!

I LOVE THEM!!

FOREVER!!!!!!
2016-08-20 15.43.06Here is the step-by-step opening of the delightful . . . unbelievable . . . beautiful . . . box . . .
2016-08-20 15.46.47As if the beautiful box, personal card, and awesome shoes aren’t enough, you also get a pouch inside a pouch that has a turquoise tote bag inside it.

2016-08-20 15.48.09The tote is a little wrinkled (understatement), but useful for carrying extra stuff. And . . . who doesn’t have extra stuff?????

2016-08-20 15.45.01I got the California Navy and they are an absolutely perfect match to the dress I’m wearing to my son’s wedding – it’s a casual, outdoor wedding where I can get away with ballet flats, right???

Yes, they’re pricey, but I figure I can wear them with anything – jeans, dresses, leggings, cropped pants – you get the idea.

Close To My Heart Charlotte Paper

d141f67a43eec8c47e12aa44bb898e3aHi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m using the Close To My Heart Charlotte Paper Pack to make beautiful cards.

The Charlotte Paper pack is a combination of peach, gray, beige and black and it is beautiful! Btw, the above picture is NOT mine, I got it off the Internet.

This blog is about the process of combining elements to make cards – in other words, this specific paper is not important – you can use any paper you love!!!!

2016-08-15 20.38.29I cut some flowers and leaves out using the Close To My Heart Springtime Wishes Thin Cuts metal dies and the CTMH watercolor paper. I cut several copies of each (like 10 – I may need extras, lol). I used my eBosser and it cut through two sheets of paper with no problem, pretty awesome!!

2016-08-15 20.39.01Above left are the diecuts and the stamp set I’ll use – Springtime Wishes.

Above right are the CTMH Watercolor Paints and paintbrushes. I’m using a watercolor technique for this project, something I’ve never done before – of course, I watched LOTS of videos. Turns out it’s very easy and there’s no right or wrong way to do it – just add water . . .
2016-08-15 20.40.31I made 10 cards – not going to show you all of them individually, just a few that represent how easy it is to make beautiful cards.

The above card is a very basic layout – white base card, peach layer, white layer, strip across the bottom of the white layer, a banner, and a piece of black/gold ribbon. The peach flower was popped up, the leaves were stamped on the white layer, and the gold flower center is a puffy sticker.

2016-08-15 20.41.02This card only has two strips of paper across the bottom and ribbon tied between them – how easy is that??? Three of the flowers are stamped and the flower on the left was popped up and embellished with a puffy sticker in the center.

2016-08-15 20.42.31I picked this card to show you because the chevron piece is a piece of the zipstrip. A zipstrip is a coordinating strip across one edge of CTMH paper that you can trim off and use in your projects – a little extra somethin’ somethin’.

2016-08-15 20.47.43I put this card in because I LOVE IT!!!! I love the black and white background – it is such a beautiful contrast to the Slate layer – add in the peach and coral and it is an awesome card!!!

2016-08-15 20.48.11Here are pictures of all the cards I made with this paper pack. Every one of these cards was made with strips of paper arranged in different configurations. You can easily replace the diecut flowers with premade flowers from craft stores.

September 2016 Cocoa Daisy Day Planner Kit

2016-08-15 21.36.15Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! Here’s my September 2016 Cocoa Daisy Day Planner Kit!!! It has a travel and text theme of maps and fountain pens in blues, greens, and coral. I love all things vintage, so this kit is right up my alley!
2016-08-15 21.36.52This months’ kit comes with 4 sheets of 6×8 papers called Here & There and Around the World. They are beautiful . . .

2016-08-15 21.37.30“a little roll of happy” washi with a map design – washi is one of my favorite planning tools, and this . . . wow . . . just . . . wow!!!

2016-08-15 21.38.14I got a 3×5 notepad with a fountain pen and “to do or not to do” text on it – I LOVE writing with a fountain pen – back to the old days, huh??? The kit also came with the cloud sticky notes – these are just plain adorable!!!

2016-08-15 21.38.56Of course, the kit also came with plenty of stickers – 1 5×7 planner sticker sheet – a date sticker sheet – and a puffy sticker sheet.

2016-08-15 21.40.06Now, this is really cool . . . it’s an etched wood veneer bookmark. You could watercolor it, use markers on it, or leave it as is – so many possibilities . . .

2016-08-15 21.40.44There was a small cellophane bag with tab and pen die cuts (they are awesome!!), a large gold clip (these wide clips work so much better than the thinner ones), and two Jillibean Soup clothespins (one says ‘to do’ and the other has a star).

2016-08-16 15.07.39The kit comes with monthly inserts that includes a double-sided month tab page (above).

2016-08-15 21.42.43

Month-on-two pages (front and back).

2016-08-15 21.43.16

5 double-sided week in review pages (front and back).

2016-08-15 21.43.49 5 sets of double-sided weekly overview pages (left) – okay, I just realized I messed up these pictures – the left picture goes with the right picture above this one (aye yi yi yi).

32 double-sided daily to do pages (right). One of the things I look forward to each month is what they do with the water glasses on the to do pages. This month has an inkwell in place of one of the glasses – too funny!!!!

2016-08-15 21.44.14
I got the Planner Add On as well (it came in this beautiful, lemony paper bag). It contains:
• Die cuts by Just Jaimee
• Sticker elements sheet by Just Jaimee
• General planner sticker sheet by Just Jaimee
• Stamp set “Pen and Ink” by arleigh
• Washi tape with an invoice/receipt design
• Jillibean Soup felt bows, 1 blue and 1 yellow
• 4×6 note card – it looks like an antique journal page
• 2 3×4 note cards
• Wood veneer by Leah Riordan – I got two clouds, a coffee cup talk bubble, and a round one with “the daily grind” on it
• 2 Black skeleton clips – I LOVE THESE CLIPS!!!

2016-08-20 16.14.32Here’s the month-on-two-pages spread – I just love the vintage look with the maps and the fountain pens!!

Popcorn Bag Birthday Card

Screen Shot 2016-08-15 at 12.12.38 PM copyHi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making a Popcorn Bag birthday card for my brother – he (obviously) LOVES popcorn!

Above is a screenshot of Cricut Design Space. I got the file from the SVGCuts “Barn Party” kit – I know, I know, it’s a pumpkin, BUT I’ll fix it, you’ll see . . .

2016-08-15 20.55.04Above are the cutout pieces – courtesy of my AWESOME Cricut Explore. I used Close To My Heart cardstock in Gypsy, Saffron, Canary and Colonial White. I picked these colors because they are the high schools’ colors in the town my brother lives in.

2016-08-15 20.55.47I wanted the popcorn to look buttery, so I spritzed the pieces with heidi swapp’s Mustard Color Shine and Perfect Pearls mist.

2016-08-15 21.02.14Here are the completed popcorn pieces. I also cut a piece of clear acetate and glued it on to the back of the mouth – notice I trimmed the teeth off and now it just looks like a mouth (toothless).

2016-08-15 20.57.43Here’s the finished card. I got a little excited about assembling it and forgot to take pictures – sorry, you can go to the SVGCuts website and watch the how-to video (hehe).

I didn’t glue the bottom so it would fold and fit into an envelope. I used my We R Memory Keepers phone app to calculate the paper size dimensions and punch board measurement to create an envelope for the card, since it’s not a standard size. When you create a nonstandard-sized card, don’t forget to add extra postage (just sayin’).

Cocoa Daisy Shaker Dashboard

2016-07-25 17.45.34Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m using the We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool to make a Cocoa Daisy Shaker Dashboard for my daily planner. The Fuse Tool is really easy to use (it’s similar to a hot glue gun) and you can make your own shaker dashboards as well as shaker cards!! Bonus!!!!!

I took the 4×6 notecard and cut it down to 3 1/4” wide – I trimmed both sides.

2016-07-25 17.46.23I used a WRMK page protector (any page protectors will work) and chose the size that would fit my dashboard.
2016-07-25 17.46.52Then I cut the pocket to 4” wide – it will stick out a little beyond the edge of the planner inserts. Now I have two open edges (the top and the left side are open – the right and bottom edges are closed).
2016-07-25 17.47.34I added shimmery sequins and closed the top and left edges along the dashboard, leaving enough space to hole punch the left edge. Then I closed the far left edge (I guess you don’t really have to do this) and hole punched – this literally took me about 15 minutes from start to finish. My kind of project!!

2016-07-25 17.48.11Here’s the finished dashboard next to the Fuse Tool – there are other tips as well, so check them out!

August 2016 ScribblePrintsCo Monthly Mystery Collection

2016-08-09 17.21.05

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m using my August 2016 ScribblePrintsCo Monthly Mystery Collection in my InkWell Press planner. I use this planner to track my social media data – blog views, instagram followers, and Pinterest followers. This isn’t a daily type of planner, so I won’t use most of the planner stickers – I’ll use them in a different planner, though. Nothing goes to waste!!

The August collection has a woodland theme and don’t you just LOVE the colors? Warm butterscotch, yellow, kind of a hot pink/carnation and lime green. I went through my washi stash and picked some rolls that will coordinate with the collection.

2016-08-09 17.22.13Here’s the month-on-two-pages spread. This gives me an overview of the month and my numbers by the day of the week. I got the “Dream” washi from Michaels – I love it!!

I also got the sticky notes (they’re so cute with the deer and vertical wood plank background) and the brown fineline Sharpie in the kit.

2016-08-09 17.21.41This is my Social Media planner and I don’t use checklists very often. Sooooo, I cut them apart and made headers out of them.

2016-08-09 17.22.55Above is the first weeks’ spread. How do you like that green lace washi on the right edge?

In July, I started tracking which blogs are viewed each day and which blogs I posted during the week. The number by itself is the number of views for that day, and the list underneath is the specific blogs viewed. Interestingly enough, views are frequently old, rather than current, blogs. Hmmm…

I’m thinking I should also track the “referrer” – my stats will tell me if it’s through a search engine or Pinterest – next month???? Yes, definitely.

2016-08-09 17.23.33The washi on this spread is from my August Cocoa Daisy kit – orange glitter and pink/orange floral, YUMMMMM!!

2016-08-09 17.24.12I love how the full boxes coordinate with the headers and the vertical wood plank washi. Hot pink, browns, and yellows . . .

2016-08-09 17.25.04More of the green lace washi – it’s sooooooo pretty!!!

2016-08-09 17.25.50Here are the last three days of August (it’ll be here before we know it). I ended it the way it began with the “Dream” washi.

Ohio State Birthday Card

Screen Shot 2016-07-25 at 2.41.33 PM copyHi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m making an Ohio State birthday card for my brother.

Above is a screenshot of Cricut Design Space of the card. I uploaded an image of a block O, cleaned it up (erased marks outside the image), and saved it. I actually saved five files – #1 is the white layer, which will be the base, #2 is the black layer, #3 is the red layer, #4 is the inside white layer, and #5 is the inside black layer.

To create the card base, I duplicated the base, lined up the two white layers next to each other with the alignment tool, and welded them together. Voila! I have a card base. I wrote the sentiment in a text box and attached it to the right section of the card base.
2016-07-25 18.07.20Here are the cutout pieces. I used Close To My Heart cardstock in Black, Cranberry, and White Daisy.

2016-07-25 19.55.41Here’s the inside of the card after cutting it out.
2016-07-25 18.07.59I glued the black layer (forgot to take a pic of that step . . . sorry . . . ) and the white layer to the card base.

2016-07-25 18.08.30Then the red layer.

2016-07-25 18.09.03The inside white layer.

2016-07-25 18.09.53And finally the inside black layer. Here’s the finished card front. This is one of the best cards I designed myself and it came out really, really good!!!

2016-07-25 21.34.18This is not a standard-sized card, so I used my We R memory keepers phone app, entered the dimensions of the card, and it calculated the paper size and punch guide measurements for me. Then I created an envelope for my card. Remember, you have to add extra postage to nonstandard sized envelopes!!!

Close To My Heart Magical Cardmaking Workshop

2016-08-07 16.29.54Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today! I’m creating five cards using the Close To My Heart Magical Cardmaking Workshop. This packet of paper is perfect for anyone that loves Disney – whether you’re making a card, scrapbooking, or creating Picture My Life spreads. Lots of bright, bold colors and patterns.

I used the Magical Paper Packet, Crystal Blue, Whisper, Black, Cranberry, Honey, Glacier, and Sapphire ink, Magical sequins, and the B1543 Fairytale Birthday stamp set.

You can download the “Magical Cardmaking Workshop” instructions from the CTMH website – in the download you get scrapbook layouts, Picture My Life layouts, as well as the card making projects.
2016-08-07 16.30.25For the first card, I used CTMH Black, Crystal Blue, and Whisper ink. I used my mini MISTI to stamp the front of the card and it worked perfectly!! The biggest problem is ME because I get ink on my hands, aaaaarrrrrrrrggggghhhhhh!!!!

2016-08-07 16.30.53The second card used Crystal Blue and Black ink, and the diagonally striped paper. I tied twine around the bottom of the card and tied a knot. The biggest advantage of using the MISTI is that a stamp like this one, where there’s a lot of solid ink, can be restamped over and over until I get the coverage I want – AND I don’t have to worry about trying to line the stamp up just right. So far, it is an AWESOME, AWESOME tool!!

2016-08-07 16.31.25The third card used Glacier and Sapphire ink. There is a lot of blue on this card and it came out beautiful!! This is my favorite of the Magical cards.
2016-08-07 16.31.55The fourth card used Cranberry, Glacier, and Honey ink, and gold sequins. I dove-tailed the ends of two of the pieces to create banners, and tied twine around the top for added texture.
2016-08-07 16.32.25The fifth card used Sapphire, Cranberry and Glacier ink and blue sequins. I used pop dots to pop up the sentiment – this technique adds dimension – glued twine down the middle, and added sequins.
2016-08-07 16.33.07Here are the completed cards, all ready for when I need them. I’m building a collection of ready-to-go cards (although I tend to create cards that fit the person and the occasion) for when I need a card quick!
