Pink Anniversary Gate Fold Card

Screen Shot 2016-07-25 at 2.42.33 PM copyHi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today!

I am making a pink anniversary gate fold card. Above is a screenshot of Cricut Design Space. One huge advantage of making your own cards is how you can customize them for specific people and occasions.

So . . . my husband likes to fish (fish in the middle), I added pink highlights to my hair when I retired (who knew pink hair came with an attitude), and it’s our 36th anniversary. All things I included in the card – awesome, huh?

2016-07-25 17.58.38Above are the cutout pieces. I used Close To My Heart cardstock in Smoothie, Pixie, Raspberry (new color this year), and Cocoa.

The card is the ‘Dear To My Heart Card’ from the Cricut “Valentine’s Day” cartridge. The fish is from the “Create A Critter” cartridge. The font for the numbers is from the “Monogram Motifs” cartridge.
2016-07-25 17.59.55Here’s the fish – I ran the pieces through my Xyron – it puts adhesive on the back from edge to edge and makes assembly Sooooo Easy!!
2016-07-25 18.00.21This is called a gate fold card because it folds and meets in the front somewhere – it can meet in the center or off to one side.
2016-07-25 18.01.04I used my We R Memory Keepers Envelope Generator app to get the paper size and punch guide measurement for my Envelope Punch Board. I can ALWAYS make envelopes that coordinate with my cards, woohoo!!!!

2016-07-25 18.02.14Here’s the finished card and envelope. I used markers to embellish the card a little – right on trend with the adult coloring book fad.

Paper Panduh July 2016 Subscription Box In Action

2016-07-23 11.18.14Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today!

Here’s the Paper Panduh July 2016 Subscription Box In Action. It has a “Treat Yo’Self” theme this month with pink, magenta, light blue, yellow, and of course, purple.

I added some washi from my stash, otherwise, everything on my planner pages came from the kit.

2016-07-23 11.18.52Here’s the month-on-two-pages in my Plum Paper planner. I uncoiled the planner (you can get it uncoiled – I didn’t, duh!), ran washi along the edge, and hole-punched the pages.

The sticky notes are my blog ideas – I put them on the days when I think I want to post that particular blog – I can move them if I change my mind.

I use as much as I can from the kit. For example, I hole-punched the “15 Ways to Treat Yo’Self” card, wrapped the twine from the kit around it and attached the personalized donut sticker to it. I also took the “you deserve pretty things” sticker off the bag in the kit and put it on this page. And, I took the leftover twine and some of the paper ribbon and tied it to the donut clip – just a little somethin’ somethin’.

2016-07-23 11.20.24I got this “Donut Seal Stamp,” that I used to reinforce the punched holes, from Amazon – it’s an applicator for donut stickers. Just so you know, the price has gone up significantly since I purchased mine in February – AND it took forever to get it. Honestly, you don’t need an applicator . . . Just sayin’ . . . But it sure is cute!!!!

2016-07-23 11.21.04I ran a piece of washi between Friday and Saturday to separate the weekend from the weekdays – not supposed to work on the weekends . . .

I also ran washi horizontally across the bottom where I write To Do’s for the next day.
2016-07-23 11.21.49I decided to use the purple satin ribbon as a bookmark – keeping the pages coming up separate from the weeks that have passed – kinda like those ribbons you see in books. I clipped the back side of the ribbon with a paperclip to get the right size. Hmm, I’m liking this!!

2016-07-23 11.22.25On the calendar, in the upper left corner of each week, I used a pink highlighter to highlight the week – sometimes I lose track of where I am in the month – this is a great visual reminder.

2016-07-23 11.23.17Lots of stickers! Lots of stickers!

2016-07-23 11.23.55Here’s the final half week of August – it’ll be here before I know it!!

Paper Panduh July 2016 Subscription Box

2016-07-21 22.11.40Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today!

I got the Paper Panduh July 2016 Subscription Box – isn’t it so pretty? “Treat Yo’ Self.”

And that confetti tissue paper is just toooooo much!!!

2016-07-21 22.12.20Under the purple satin ribbon was this $5 voucher for the Paper Panduh shop. Not only is it a voucher, but it also has donut stickers – a multi-tasking sticker sheet, lol! And it’s pretty too . . .

2016-07-21 22.12.57Oh my! The detail that goes in to these kits is incredible!

The first thing you see is this list of 15 ways to treat yo’self – just a little extra. I also see washi wrapped in tissue and tied with paper ribbon – seriously, they could’ve just put the washi in unwrapped – but they didn’t . . . I love it!!!

2016-07-21 22.13.35Since her first kit, she has personalized something in every one. There’s never been candy before . . .

Anyway, here’s the personalization in this kit – don’t you love it? A bag holding candy, some twine wrapped around it and a donut sticker with my name on it.

I LOVE the extra effort . . .

2016-07-21 22.14.30There’s a pretty vinyl flowered pouch.
2016-07-21 22.15.18Here’s the washi. There are two rolls – one is a light pink with bright colored sprinkles, and the other is vertical chevrons of hot pink/magenta, and light blue/mint green. Really pretty!!!
2016-07-21 22.16.15Just when I thought that was it – there’s more!!! A donut clip from Bits to Pieces, an eraser that looks like a bowl of ice cream, a notepad that says “Let’s Do This!” and an adorable peach-colored pen with a bear on the end of it.
2016-07-21 22.18.54Here’s a closeup of the end of the pen – it’s a bear and there’s a gem on the end of the cap, as well. Have you ever seen such cuteness?!?!? I love pretty things!!
2016-07-21 22.16.51There’s a folder from youandmemake.com that has a sheet of stickers inside – adorable!!
2016-07-21 22.17.41Another sheet of stickers – cute little desserts – from Funny Sticker World.

2016-07-21 22.18.17And finally (WOW!!!) is a pink bag that says “you deserve pretty things” and sealed with another donut sticker. Inside are two sheets of planner stickers from Paper Panduh and youandmemake.com.

Phew!!! This kit has an unbelievable amount of stuff inside – well worth the cost (and pleasure), for sure!!

August 2016 Cocoa Daisy Day Planner Kit in Action

2016-07-20 18.52.58Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today!

Here’s the August 2016 Cocoa Daisy Day Planner Kit in action!!! This month’s kit is full of florals, glitter and happy hummingbirds – orange, yellow, and yummy pink!

Above is the month-on-two-pages. Orange is a prominent color, as you can see, but also pink and splashes of yellow.

Check out the yellow triangular sticky note pad on the right – you may or may not know that I am a HUGE Legend of Zelda (video game) fan and that sure looks like a Triforce to me – Courage, Wisdom and Power . . .

2016-07-20 18.53.07Above is the 1st week of August. How about that pink houndstooth washi, huh? Pretty awesome, right?

The orange pen is an erasable Frixion – I make a lot of mistakes and an erasable pen is a life saver – and how ‘bout that orange ink?!?!?!
2016-07-20 18.53.17Here’s Week 2. I ran the floral washi across the top and bottom of the week-on-two-pages – both pages at once, and then cut them apart so the washi looks like it continues from page to page (was that a complicated explanation or what???). I also dovetailed the ends – one of my favorite details.

In the left photo, “Enjoy the little things” – words to live by . . .
2016-07-20 18.53.35Isn’t that rose planner charm lovely? I keep it between the month-on-two-pages spread as a bookmark.

Other ways I bookmark sections include the small bull clips on the week-on-one-page and the tabs across the top for each week-on-two-pages.
2016-07-20 18.53.53There were LOTS of stickers in my August order!! Sometimes I feel like I’m plastering my pages with stickers – I have so many, soooo many, stickers . . .
2016-07-20 18.54.03And . . . here’s the final spread. Decorating my planners is one of the most enjoyable activities I do – aside from making cards (my first love) – I hope you enjoy looking them!!

July 2016 Listers Gotta List Kit 14

2016-07-16 22.47.51Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today!

This is the July 2016 Listers Gotta List Kit 14. This is the “essentials” kit, NOT the “full kit.”

I totally messed up and bought the wrong kit, sniff sniff. Oh well, I am making the best of what I’ve got. Without the chalk edger. Without the awesome geometric washi. Without the Citrus Twist stamp pad. Without the Carpe Diem word strip sheet. Boo Hoo, without Murphy the Monkey!!!!!

Yes, the “Essentials” kit is only $29 – not UNreasonable – and the “full kit” is $48 – kinda pricey! However, I really believe you get your money’s worth with the full kit!

The “Essentials” Kit includes:
18 3×4 custom TRG journal cards, 6 3×8 custom TRG journal cards, 3 cutaway tags with July’s prompts pre-printed on them, 3 sheets of punch-out, custom TRG die cuts, and 4 custom TRG sticker quarter sheets.
2016-07-16 22.49.26I’m using my Carpe Diem inserts for my Listers Gotta List lists. Since this is a list rather than a dated calendar, I started #1 in the first section – it turned out to be a GREAT idea!

Above are the first seven prompts – aren’t the colors soooooo pretty? I added a 3×4 journal card between each spread for extra writing space and one of the 3×8 cards as a bookmark.

2016-07-16 22.50.09Aren’t the colors are SO HAPPY?!?! Lots of pink, some yellow, some turquoise, sparkles, planner girls, bubble stickers, theme-related stickers and diecuts.

2016-07-16 22.50.47I’m going to keep showing the rest of the pages so you can see how awesome TRG kits are!!!!!

2016-07-16 22.51.26I used washi from my stash that I got off of Peachy Cheap – they send daily special emails – lots of very reasonable craft supplies.

2016-07-16 22.52.07Here’s the last spread. Yes, I missed the extras, but I still think it came out great! I like to write in a pretty space & this is definitely a pretty space . . .

Watercolor Blue Bridal Shower Card

Screen Shot 2016-07-09 at 4.12.25 PM copy

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today!

I am making a watercolor blue bridal shower card for my future daughter-in-law. Above is a screenshot of the pieces in Cricut Design Space.

db1a597da9d727b17ce1866334ebdc0eHere is the inspiration for the card. I searched “wedding shower card” on Pinterest and found this. Her colors are watercolor blues, so I changed the color. Sometimes that’s all you have to do to make the card look totally different.

I take an inspiration and make it my own, and I ALWAYS give credit to where I found it (see the link).

2016-07-11 19.13.50Here are the pieces that I cut out using my AWESOME Cricut Explore (my top crafting tool). I used Close To My Heart cardstock in Peacock, Glacier, White Daisy, and Crystal Blue.

The Umbrella is from the Cricut ‘Cake Basics’ cartridge, the label is from the CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge, and the hearts are a free basic shape. The font is ‘All Mixed Up’ – a writing style font.

2016-07-11 19.14.35I used CTMH Peacock ink and a dauber to ink the edges of the card pieces.

2016-07-11 19.15.11I used my Xyron Create a Sticker and X to put adhesive on the back of the top layer of the umbrella and handle, and the label – this makes putting the pieces together incredibly easy and, best of all, they stay stuck!!

2016-07-11 19.15.50Here’s the finished card. I glittered the hearts with Stickles diamond glitter glue, and added CTMH sparkles to the umbrella. Isn’t it beautiful? One of my favorites, for sure!!

July Scribble Prints Co Monthly Mystery Collection

2016-07-11 19.16.44Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today!

I am using the July Scribble Prints Co Monthly Mystery Collection in my Social Media planner, (in my new inkWELL Press planner). The July collection is in navy, red, green and pink and is pretty classy with shoes, purses, and makeup stickers.

The kit comes monthly and includes six sheets of stickers, a small sampler sticker sheet, a sticky notepad, and a pen. This month’s pen is gold with gold sparkly gems in the bottom of the barrel – really pretty!!!

2016-07-11 19.17.18“Be Happy, Be Bright, Be You”

Here is the month-on-two-pages – I ran washi over the days before the month begins. The washi came from my stash – a multi-colored floral and a stripe, and a solid green. I also added white and gold polka-dotted washi across the top and down the right side.

I use this planner to track my social media. On these pages, I log the daily blog views, and the weekly Instagram and Pinterest followers.

2016-07-11 19.17.58The inkWELL Press planner has a Mission Board page in a hexagon configuration – this is my first month in this planner, and I didn’t use this page. However, I will definitely use it next month because this is the feature that drew me to this planner . . . “Let your light SHINE.”

2016-07-11 19.18.27Here’s the first week. I ran the white and gold polka dotted washi across the top – I like this because you can still see the date through it! I layered washi on the right side – adds lots of color and interest, right? I also ran a piece of green washi vertically separating the weekend from the rest of the week – oh, just because . . .

This is the first month that I’m tracking which blogs viewers are looking at – pretty interesting information. I can use this to analyze what people are looking at and possibly adjust my blog topics accordingly.

IMG_8985Here’s a closeup of the layered washi along the right side of the page – I LOVE the way this looks!!!!

2016-07-11 19.19.08Here’s a full week spread of all my social media info. You’re supposed to have three social media venues if you want to keep and increase interest in your blog – mine are Instagram, Pinterest, and my blog’s SEO. Still figuring out the SEO thing . . .

2016-07-11 19.19.44The rest of the week’s of the month pretty much look like this.

My rationale for decorating my planners is this: If I’m going to work, it may as well be in a pretty format. Right? Plus, it’s soooooo much fun!!

40th Anniversary Camping Card

Screen Shot 2016-07-06 at 7.33.58 PM copyHi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today!

I’m making a 40th Anniversary Camping Card for my brother and sister-in-law – obviously, they’re campers, and they’re going to love it!

Above is a screenshot of the pieces in Cricut Design Space. I used the Horizontal Card canvas to size and position the card and its pieces. The canvas feature is really useful – I use it frequently when I am creating my own cards and sizing/placing t-shirt designs.

Happy-Trails-2Above is the card inspiration I found on Pinterest. I find a card I like and then make it my own – mine also has the grass on the bottom, a camper and the trees. It’s different because mine is a night scene, has a campfire, and a different sentiment.
2016-07-06 22.03.07Here are the cutout pieces. I used Close To My Heart cardstock in the following colors:
Paper Fundamentals Patterned Paper
Pacifica
Topiary
Honey
Canary
Whisper
Slate
Sunset

2016-07-06 22.04.05This card had some fun, fun, fun embellishments.

First, I used my mini X Xyron to put adhesive on the back of the small pieces.

Second, I misted some of the pieces with heidi swapp’s Color Shine mist (love this stuff).

Third, I glittered some pieces up with some stickles.

Finally, I used some Tim Holtz twine for the camper’s banner.

2016-07-06 22.05.50Above left are the pieces for the camper – there are a lot – and on the right is the completed camper. Cool, huh?

I got the camper svg files from the SVGCuts Camp Firefly SVG Kit – I used this camper on a card I did last year for my other brother’s birthday. Obviously easy to make if I used it again, right?
2016-07-06 22.06.31Above is the card base with the grass, trees, stars and moon.

2016-07-06 22.07.06Above is the finished card. A whole of glitter on this card! I used some flames, also from the SVGCuts Camp Firefly SVG kit, and created a campfire with the addition of some brown “logs.” I used pop dots and popped up the sentiment across the top. It came out pretty awesome!!

Cricut Simple Cards “Thank You” Card

Screen Shot 2016-07-05 at 3.25.42 PM copyHi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today!

I’m making a Cricut Simple Cards “Thank You” card for my neighbor. Sometimes you need a quick and easy card that also looks really nice. Cricut cartridges to the rescue!! Above is a screenshot of the card I chose. It’s from the Simple Cards cartridge and only has two pieces – quick AND easy!

2016-07-06 22.00.20Here are the cutout pieces. Ha! There only two!!!

I used Close To My Heart cardstock from the Happy Times paper pack (a limited paper pack from May) and Lagoon cardstock.

A really nice feature of using CTMH cardstock is that the patterned paper coordinates with the solids – takes a lot of the guesswork out of matching paper colors – I may tend to overthink choosing paper . . . just sayin’.

2016-07-06 22.00.38I used the We R Memory Keepers phone app to calculate the paper size and punch guide measurements to create a customized envelope for my card.

So . . . when are We R Memory Keepers going to fix the misspelling on their app? There’s an “e” between the “r” and “m” in “Punch Guide Measurement” – I mean, really . . .

**Remember when you send a non-standard-sized card through the mail, it requires extra postage.**

2016-07-06 22.01.09Above, I used the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board to cut, score, notch, and round the corners of a piece of CTMH Lagoon – this is one of my favorite colors – a pretty turquoise!

2016-07-06 22.01.39Here’s the finished card – I love the detail on this patterned paper from CTMH – a subtle floral design. I didn’t do any embellishing on this card – quick AND easy! It took me about 20 minutes from start to finish, so don’t think you have to make all out blinged cards every time!
