SVGCuts Summer Fair Box Card

Screen Shot 2016-06-20 at 8.01.50 PM copyHi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today!

I am making the SVGCuts Summer Fair Box Card from their “Summer Box Card” SVG Kit.

Above is the Cricut Design Space screenshot showing the imported pieces. The files import really easy and don’t need resized – remember to attach scorelines and numbers to the pieces! Otherwise they go on different mats – you can check this when you preview your cuts.

2016-06-20 22.37.37Above are the cutout pieces from my AWESOME Cricut Explore. I love this machine!!!

I used Close To My Heart cardstock in these colors:
White Daisy
Poppy
Happy Times Paper Pack (this was a special in May)

2016-06-20 22.38.22Here are the assembled panels. Yeah, so . . . I messed up the ferris wheel (it happens). There’s supposed to be a blue piece on this side of it – I put it on the other side, duh . . . It comes out awesome anyway, you’ll see.

A little trick for adding the pennants is to line the points up first and then the rest of the triangle up to the wide part.
2016-06-20 22.39.53I used the Cricut cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder to emboss the flap panels – above right pic.

2016-06-20 22.43.32I used the CTMH “Holiday Tags” acrylic stamp set and Poppy ink to stamp the sentiment.

2016-06-20 22.42.20Here’s the ferris wheel – the blue piece was supposed to be on the other side of the ferris wheel. So, I added blue gems to both sides – not really sure this was a good idea, it added an awful lot of bulk . . .
2016-06-20 22.42.52The top left pic shows the outside of the assembled box, the top right pic shows the first panel with the stars attached. The bottom left shows the second panel with the tent attached, and the bottom right pic shows the ferris wheel panel attached.

I added the extra stars from the cutouts in various places on the card – one is shown on the left side of the sentiment oval.

2016-06-20 22.44.05Here’s the finished card. Doesn’t it look great? I love making box cards!! The Happy Times paper pack took the guesswork out of choosing paper – works for me!!!!

SVGCuts Six Pack Box Card

Screen Shot 2016-06-20 at 8.02.25 PM copyHi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today!

I am making the SVGCuts Six Pack Box Card from the “Sunday With Dad” SVG Kit. This is not a dad card, but rather a birthday card for my brother-in-law – hey, us crafters can adapt any project to what we need, right?

Above is a screenshot of the pieces imported into Cricut Design Space (this is really easy to do, btw).

Choosing the colors for projects is probably the most difficult part for me. So . . . this time I decided to use the Close To My Heart Urban Paper Pack. This paper pack has 2 each of 3-double-sided designs – this gives me lots of design choices that coordinate with each other. You also get six solid-colored sheets in the pack. Completely takes the guesswork out of coordinating paper . . .

2016-06-20 22.53.40Above are the cut out pieces.

The CTMH cardstock I used includes:
Urban Paper Pack
Colonial White
Desert Sand
Saffron
Peacock
Whisper
2016-06-20 22.54.33I stamped the Colonial White banner piece in Peacock ink with the CTMH “Look Who’s . . . “ stamp set.

2016-06-20 22.55.04I used a Cricut cuttlebug “Swiss Dots” embossing folder and embossed the Peacock pieces.

2016-06-20 22.55.45Here are the assembled panels – don’t the bottles look awesome???? I’ve seen this card with beer labels – you could also put soda pop labels on them.

2016-06-20 22.56.12Here are the panels as they are assembled – the top left picture shows the outside of the box with the attached banners, the top right picture shows the first row of bottles (Insert 1), the bottom left picture shows the case handle (Insert 2), and the bottom right picture shows the other row of bottles (Insert 3).

2016-06-20 22.56.44Here is the finished card. I love making box cards – they are so easy to assemble and they come out awesome!!!! SVGCuts has assembly videos for their projects. I watch the video before I start a project, then I watch it again while I am assembling – don’t get me wrong, I still mess them up sometimes, but watching the videos certainly helps me make awesome projects!

July Cocoa Daisy Day Planner Kit In Action

2016-06-22 20.31.16Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today!

Here’s the July Cocoa Daisy Day Planner Kit in action!!! This month’s kit is all about water, koi fish, and waves. Coral is the predominant color, which happens to be one of my favorite colors!
2016-06-22 20.31.56Here are the week-on-one-page’s for the five weeks of July. I used the coral scale washi across the top of each page and between the week and weekend days. I used the yellow chevron washi along the left edge of each page as well.

The first week of July doesn’t begin until Friday so there’s a four-day blank section. I added some floral washi along the right edge, a lilypad and some koi fish here to fill in. This sets the stage for the month . . .

2016-06-22 20.32.36I use this kit in my Filofax personal pink domino which holds my general monthly planner.

Here’s the month-on-two-pages – lots of coral and oh, so, pretty . . .

I ran some blue chevron washi from my stash along the right page, and added some koi fish – don’t they look like they’re swimming in a river? My coral Gellyroll pen matches this months’ colors perfectly!

2016-06-22 20.33.24Oh man, I forgot to take a picture of the first week . . . What the heck? Sorry . . . I’m out of town for the next week . . .

So . . . moving on . . . I went through each set of week-on-two-pages added the yellow chevron washi across the top of the left page, and the bottom of the right page, cutting a banner on the inside edge. I also layered the orange fish scale washi over some turquoise chevron washi from my stash – I LOVE the way this looks.

I also took the numbered flags and put them next to each weekday – I’ve said this before, but the flags are just a little bit too wide to fit between the edge of the page and the weekday words. Why? My OCD wants those flags to fit next to the day!!!

2016-06-22 20.34.07Next, I went through and added diecuts and stickers – not a lot going on this week and the next so adding diecuts and stickers helps it not look quite so pitiful, lol. At the end of the month, though, they’re pretty much filled in.

2016-06-22 20.35.07This month’s kit came with four flag paperclips that I am using as bookmarks. These make it easy to flip through the weeks when you need to add something.

2016-06-22 20.36.17I used the black clip to clip the daily to do pages together. I don’t put them in my binder rings because there are a lot of them and they bulk up the planner too much. I add them when I need them.

So, there’s the July kit – I really like the colors and the theme, at least the water and the waves, I don’t really know that much about koi fish . . . They’re pretty, though.

Hey, if you’d like to see some of my other projects, check out my Instagram and Pinterest board, and I would LOVE it if you would follow me.

July Cocoa Daisy Day Planner Kit

2016-06-12 16.40.20Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today!

The July Cocoa Daisy Day Planner Kit is here! This is seriously one of the highlights of my month – lots of ooh’s and aah’s and omg’s, lol!!!

2016-06-12 16.40.51Here’s a picture of the inside of the box – whoa, BIG black polkadots! Love. It. So. Much.
2016-06-12 16.41.23Sigh . . . I’m just going to look at it for a minute . . .

2016-06-12 16.42.16Cocoa Daisy’s description of this kit: “The July Daisy Day Planner kits speak the language of tranquility: Koi fish, water and waves, words from Confucius.”

Ugh, they certainly know how to write a description . . . yes, yes they do . . .

Koi fish and tab die cuts – wow, awesome complementary colors and patterns – stripes, dots (circles?? mmmmhmmmm).

2016-06-12 16.42.50“a little roll of happy” – washi DOES make me happy!!

2016-06-12 16.43.26Orange fish scale narrow washi tape
Yellow tassel from Hautepinkfluff – niiiiiiice
3×5 notepad that says “Present Moment = Wonderful Moment” (circles?? aka ripples)
Green mini sticky note pad with an art deco design
Fancy Pants Attwell black matte clip – this is a Heavy Duty clip!!

2016-06-12 16.45.33Cocoa Daisy exclusive date sticker sheet – this is a newer element in the kit – I think this is the 3rd month?? Perfect for what I use this kit for. Just sayin’.

See any circles? Why, yes I dooooo!

2016-06-12 16.46.495×7 planner sticker sheet – warm, calm colors
A double sided month tab with koi fish – love the quote!

More circles (and ripples) . . .

2016-06-12 16.47.40Month-on-2-pages on the left – the back sides are shown in the center picture – monthly checklist and goal pages.
5 double-sided week-in-review pages on the right – makin’ waves.
2016-06-12 16.48.125 sets of double-sided weekly overview pages (2 per set) one side in the left pic and the other side on the right – I’m seriously lovin’ the circles . . . hmm, I keep seeing them . . .

2016-06-12 16.48.37Finally, there are 32 double-sided daily to-do pages – LOOK, I think there’s a tidal wave in one of the glasses, lol!!

And . . . more ripples . . .

2016-06-12 16.50.01I got the Pretty Little Studio Lime Coconut Number Stickers that includes 40 stickers. Each circle is 3/4″.

The “July Daisy Dori will have you swimming in the waters of simplicity with our
soothing colors and calming Koi fish.” Don’t you feel calm reading this sentence????

It includes:
A Kraft embossed cover that says ”Start Here” – something about this makes me smile . . .
The inside pages include:
◦ Monthly Calendar
◦ 3 lined journaling pages
◦ 11 blank (with design) pages
◦ 10 graph paper pages with 7 sections
◦ 10 unlined paper pages with 3 sections

June ScribblePrintsCo Monthly Mystery Collection

2016-06-12 16.15.29

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today!

I’m showing you how I used the June ScribblePrintsCo Monthly Mystery Collection. I am still trying to figure out how this kit fits into my planner scheme. It is only stickers (well, it also includes a sticky note pad and pen/marker) – but no . . . surprises???? I like the surprises, they give me inspiration . . .

Minuses for me:
Andrea is a no-white-space planner. I am not – I NEED my white space.
I am at a loss as to what to do with some of the stickers – “Little Things” – Full boxes – the daily checklist full box.

Pluses for me:
Tap into my creativity – the kit has a theme and color scheme – in other words, a place to start.
Can add my own extras – I MAY have some planner supplies to supplement (sheepish look on my face).
2016-06-12 16.16.06So . . . I am trying this kit in my Travel Planner. It’s not a daily or weekly planner, but I am documenting our summer activities – it needs some prettifying, lol!!

The first thing I noticed using this approach, is how the headers take on a new meaning when you use them in a different way. “Today,” “Little Things,” “To Do” – they all mean something different when I am labeling pictures and memorabilia. The stickers were perfect for summer activities.

Hey, maybe I’m onto something here . . .

Sidebar – yes, the notepad IS upside down, duh!!!

2016-06-12 16.17.01See? The task lists can be used for making any kind of list – not necessarily to do’s. Hmm . . .

2016-06-12 16.17.43I used some of the washi from the kit along the edge of this page – it’s so colorful and complements my granddaughter’s costumes perfectly – great summer colors!!!

2016-06-12 16.18.30I cut the full box checklists apart and used them to label the pictures – and used the paw print to represent our dogs’ role in an unfortunate incident . . .

Yeah . . . I think this will work . . . What do you think?

The leftover stickers can be used in my daily planner – I just have to remember where I put them – hmm, I need to organize my stickers so I can find them when I want them . . .

SVGCuts Butterfly Box Card

Screen Shot 2016-06-10 at 10.54.06 AM copyHi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today!

I am making an SVGCuts Butterfly Box Card from the Boho Butterflies kit for my daughter’s birthday. Above is a screenshot of Cricut Design Space showing the uploaded pieces.

2016-06-12 16.06.41Here are the cutout pieces.

I used Close To My Heart cardstock in the following colors:
White Daisy
Sweet Leaf
Saffron
Canary
Chocolate
Glacier
Black
Fundamental Papers (has the white circles)

CTMH cardstock cuts perfectly in my Cricut Explore – I set it on Cardstock+ and, again, the paper ALWAYS cuts perfectly!!

2016-06-12 16.07.15After gluing the black layers onto the butterflies, I used my CTMH ShinHan markers to color in the sections.

2016-06-12 16.07.47I wanted to shimmer the butterflies up a little, so I misted them with Perfect Pearls Mist – LOVE THIS STUFF!!

2016-06-12 16.08.18Then I used Stickles (glitter glue) to embellish even more! Embellishing is my favorite part of doing projects – there are so many products to choose from . . .

2016-06-12 16.08.55I used CTMH Cocoa ink on the edges of all the brown pieces – this gives it a distressed look, which I love!

2016-06-12 16.09.41I used the CTMH Celebration stamp set to stamp “Happy Birthday!” in Cocoa ink on the back panel. This is where you can write additional comments and sign your name, as well.

2016-06-12 16.10.15Here are the assembled panels – shimmery, glittery butterflies!!

2016-06-12 16.11.24Above are pictures as the inserts were attached. The picture on the left is the assembled box, the center picture includes Insert 2, and the right picture includes Insert 3. How about all those butterflies????

2016-06-12 16.12.38Here’s a top view of the assembled box card.

2016-06-12 16.13.17Here’s a front view of the completed card.

2016-06-12 16.13.55Box cards are really impressive, and the best part is that they fold flat so they fit in an envelope and you can mail them. Don’t forget to add extra postage because they are not a standard size, and sometimes they weigh more as well.

Father’s Day Box Card

Screen Shot 2016-06-09 at 3.05.50 PM copy

Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today!

I’m making a Happy Father’s Day Box Card from SVGCuts Father’s Day Box Cards projects. Above is a Cricut Design Space screenshot of the workspace with the pieces on it.

2016-06-10 15.54.07My dad is a farmer, so whenever I make cards for him, they have a John Deere theme, lol. Above are the cutout pieces in – you guessed it, John Deere green and yellow.

I used Close To My Heart cardstock in Sweet Leaf, Canary, and Paper Fundamentals. Paper Fundamentals have the same pattern on both sides, one side with a glossy pattern – these are nice when you want a subtle design rather than a flat solid color.

2016-06-10 15.54.35SVGCuts are great because they have assembly instruction videos for their projects – at least there has been a video for every project I have ever done with their svg files. Mary demonstrates each step throughout completion – pretty awesome – you can rewatch, pause and start, over and over again.

Above are the assembled sections, the numbers written on them identify them from each other, and tell you what order to put them in the box.

2016-06-10 15.55.10Above you see the box sections put together – the stars are on the flaps that hang outside the box.

2016-06-10 15.55.44Above you see the box taking shape when the sections are glued together.

2016-06-10 15.58.18Yeah, so, I don’t like the way the letters blend in with the background . . .  So, I used Gelly Roll pens in silver and gold to trace around the letters and the stars. They definitely stand out more, don’t you think?

This picture shows Panel 2 attached inside the box.

2016-06-10 15.59.00This picture shows Panel 1 attached inside the box. The card is finished, oh, yeah . . . They are so easy to make and come out so awesome!!!!!

2016-06-10 15.59.39Here’s a top view of the panels attached inside the box.

2016-06-10 16.00.19I used CTMH “Typed Note” (no longer available, but there are plenty of other sentiment stamps) to stamp the sentiment on the back – typewriter fonts are my favorites.

2016-06-10 16.01.23I used the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Generator app on my phone to calculate the paper size and punch guide measurement for an envelope. This is one of the most useful apps I have on my phone for crafting.

2016-06-10 16.00.58Not only are box cards impressive, but they’re easy to send through the mail because they fold and fit inside an envelope.

Don’t forget to put extra postage on box cards because they’re larger and heavier than basic cards.

May Paper Panduh Subscription Box In Action

2016-06-10 15.37.52Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today!

Here’s the May Paper Panduh Subscription box in action. It has a mermaid theme and is a beautiful array of purple, green, pink, and yellow!! Let’s get started!

2016-06-10 15.38.37This is the first month in my new Plum Paper Planner. I uncoiled the planner, washi’d the edges, hole-punched the pages and put them in my lilac Kikki K.

A new feature in this planner is a goals page on the back side of the month tab. This is my blog planner and I’m using this page to list my blogs for the month, my to do’s, and to list new ideas for blogs.

I use as much as I can from the kit – including the glittery shells that were sprinkled throughout the box – they’re the goal headers – nice, huh? There’s no such thing as too much glitter . . . No, really . . .

Working on my handwriting – man, I need A LOT of practice!

2016-06-10 15.39.26Here’s the month spread. This is where I map out what blogs I want to do for the month and decide when I want to post them. I always have more ideas than time and space!!

I hole-punched the note from the kit and put it in this section. Isn’t that so cute? Oh, and BRB, just in case you don’t know, means Be Right Back, LOVE IT!!!

The green fish scale washi looks really nice with the two green rolls that came in the kit.

I’m not really sure what to do with the page flags – there are A LOT of them. I used a few as decor on the pages – no room to really write on them???? They’re really cute, but what else can I use them for???? Okay, bookmarks . . . Hmmm . . .

2016-06-10 15.40.46This month’s Paper Panduh spread is starting on the 13th because I got it late – long story, check my last blog if you really want to know, lol.

I need lots of white space in this planner, so I don’t overdecorate. I put washi across the top because the numbers are orange (ewwww), and this is an excellent space for putting stickers and word strips. I used a roller stamp and stamped the dates in under the days.

I covered the bottom “Checklist” section with washi and stamped “To Do List” on each day. I use this section to list what I want to do on the next day.

The three hearts are a mini checklist for each blog – take pictures, edit pictures, and write blog.

Under that, I have another checklist for post blog, enlarge and center pictures, add links, publish date, category tags, featured image, and SEO green light. If you read my blogs, I miss one or more of these from time to time . . . Just sayin’ . . .

2016-06-10 15.42.00I write three blogs per week, so the upper left sticker is a list of this weeks’ blogs – keep me on track and on schedule.

I use this planner EVERY DAY and believe me, it gets filled up by the end of the week – I NEED the white space . . .

2016-06-10 15.42.38Here’s the final week. Pretty much the same as the last two weeks, except the end of this week has three days of July. So, I took the purple glittery piece that the pen was attached to, glued it to the page, added some washi, one of the sticky notes, and added a bow to the top corner.

The bow was made from the purple mesh that tied the tissue paper around the kit, and is tied with the lavender raffia. Someone on Instagram tied the mesh to paperclips – aaaaaaggggghhhh, great idea!! I have some left and am definitely making some as well.

There you have it, a summery, mermaidy, planner. It makes planning so much more fun!!!

May Paper Panduh Subscription Box

2016-06-03 13.59.33Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today!

Ugh, can you believe it? I was out of town when my May Paper Panduh Subscription Box arrived. I was following the sneak peaks on Instagram and could not wait to see the mermaids!!! I tried not to look at other people’s kits as they opened them – one of the reasons I get this kit is the anticipation of what’s inside . . .

2016-06-03 14.00.11So, here is my first view of the inside of the box. I must say, the sneak peaks did not disappoint! The lid of the box shows a mermaid swimming (cavorting?) in the sea.

And then . . . purple mesh is tied around turquoise tissue paper – such a beautiful color combination – and glittery seashell pieces are scattered around on top.

2016-06-03 14.00.39The tissue paper is held together with a shell sticker that has my initial “j” on it. Every kit so far is personalized in some way – this is such a lovely touch and something I look forward to discovering . . .

2016-06-03 14.01.23And . . . this is what is inside the tissue paper . . . green, purple, yellow . . . sooooo pretty!!!

2016-06-03 14.03.15Here’s the note from Emma – it is so cute – “creativity washi you away” – “seashell kisses” – ADORABLE!

Glittery shells were sprinkled throughout the box – and check out that awesome mermaid paperclip from HoweCute4You – Oh.My.Goodness.

2016-06-03 14.01.57There is a muslin tote in this kit with turquoise seashells stamped on the front! It’s pretty AND useful – you can never have too many totes!!!!

“Stuff your shell tote with all of your planning essentials and head to the beach for some summer planning sessions!”

2016-06-03 14.02.44There are four rolls of washi included – it’s more of a paper consistency than tape – I LOVE the way it tears. There are two rolls of green in different shades, one roll of purple, and one is green fish scales – yes – green fish scales – aaaaaagggggghhhhh!! The solid green rolls match the fish scales perfectly – they’re gonna go sooooo good together!

2016-06-03 14.03.50There’s a set of page flags from Girl of All Work – you can use these as page tabs, dividers, for writing notes, or decoration – I’m sure there are plenty of other uses as well.

There is also a pastel yellow mini pen included – it doesn’t really write very smoothly – I am a fan of gel pens myself, but it sure is cute!!

2016-06-03 14.04.23There are also four sheets of stickers included. One sheet from Paper Panduh, two sheets are from MyNewestAddiction, and the small sampler sheet is from LetsPlanIt. They all coordinate and follow Panduh’s sea and mermaid theme with turquoise, purple and pink throughout.

I waited over a week to see this lovely kit and I can’t wait to start putting everything together in my planner . . .

Hey, if you’d like to see some of my other projects, check out my Instagram and Pinterest board, and I would LOVE it if you would follow me.

Listers Gotta List Kit #13 “Scenic Route” In Action

2016-06-02 08.05.50Hi Guys! Come on in and see what I’m doing today!

Here’s The Reset Girl’s Listers Gotta List Kit #13 “Scenic Route” in action.

I think this is my favorite planner spread ever!!! I am using my Close To My Heart Everyday Life binder and the My Crush Everyday Life Pages. It has a horizontal orientation with four days on the left page and three days on the right.
2016-06-03 13.55.37So . . . above is the first weeks’ spread. I put two journal cards at the top of the left page to cover the last two days of May. This is a great space for writing goals, gratitude entries, quotes, etc.

The first thing I do is put my washi on the page – it’s hard to put it on after other things, then you have to lift things – let’s just say, it’s easier to do it first.

I ran some of the yellow washi from the kit across the top, then I ran some wide washi I got from Peachy Cheap under Sunday, and then I ran multi-color striped washi (from my stash) vertically along the date boxes and horizontally under the wide washi on the right. THEN I ran some skinny green washi (also from my stash) between the striped washi on the bottom right. Doesn’t it look like a road???? Aaaaaahhhhh! That came out better than expected . . .

I love washi . . .

2016-06-03 13.56.10I watched an Anna Brim video where she spritzed over her planner pages and it looked awesome! So I used some Heidi Swapp Peach and Heidi Swapp Mustard Color Shine and misted the pages (should’ve done this before the washi, but it still came out pretty darned good), and wow! Just wow! I’m gonna do this again!

The pen is a LePen I got from Ashley Shelly and I love the way it writes – kind of like a marker and it didn’t bleed through.

I put all the Listers Gotta List prompts on – covered the days that were there – something you can do on outdated planner pages – just sayin’ – never throw them away!

I put the date bubbles under the prompts and used a dated roller stamp – I love the way dates look stamped like this – kinda vintage, right?

2016-06-03 13.56.47I like using journal cards as extra writing space – on the top right, I trimmed one down and hinged it with washi. This particular list prompt requires (not really, you can do as many as you want) 10 items, so the card gives extra space without cramming/condensing your list.

After I’m done with the essentials – washi, prompts, dates, journal cards – then I add sentence strips wherever I feel like it’s appropriate (or wherever I want). I like to layer them over other stickers, too.

2016-06-03 13.57.30I try to use every part of a kit. In this kit, the “Scenic Route” (with the cactus and camper) was at the top of the list prompts, & “it’s never too late to reset your life” was at the top of the sticker sheets. I cut them out and used them as headers on the week spread pages.
I spread the ephemera and stickers throughout the pages – I try to use all of them – sometimes there are just too many – I don’t want to fill up too much of my writing space . . . but I try . . .

2016-06-03 13.58.14Here is the last page for June. I use the long journal cards as bookmarks. I make sure they stick up about 1/2” above the planner pages and punched holes in them. They mark each weeks’ pages and I use them to make lists for . . . whatever!!!
